Breathe....

I don't know if you've noticed -- those of you who've spoken to me on AIM certainly have -- but my internet's being weird again and it's disconnecting every few minutes. This is only my wireless conection; the wired computer (which I'm currently using) is unaffected. The router and modem seem like they're working fine. The lights are on and flashing (or steady, as appropriate), and all the network connections seem to be cool, so I've got NO IDEA what the problem is, and it goes without saying that I'm a little cheesed.

The funny thing is, it seems to work better in the morning than it does in the evening. In the morning, at least, I can stay connected for twenty minutes. At night, it averages two. IF I can reconnect.

Went to school today in search of more credit. PHALED. First stop was the English department to get placement into ENG 102 or a waiver from ENG 101 (which is essentially the same thing). I spoke to the secretary, she copied my transcript and told me to call back in a couple of days. >.o Now, maybe I just lucked out with speed the other times, but a couple of DAYS? Not a couple of MINUTES? Suck.

Worse was the foreign language department. Under Liberal Arts, two semesters of a language are required. I took French in high school and got a 90 on the Regents, but apparently, that only counts towards placement. And after speaking with two of the French professors (who conveniently happened to gather in the room), and hearing them squeal in delight when they saw which high school I attended, they decided to place me in the 213 class, with 214 next semester.

WTF TWO SEMESTERS. THIS IS BULLSHIT. I GOT NOWHERE. I TOOK A STEP BACKWARDS. D:<

So I thanked them and took the placement (just in case) and I was off, but I grumbled as soon as I got outside. Didn't one of the advisors JUST tell me that three years of high school counts as three semesters? So, shouldn't I only have to take one? Why two? WHY ANY. AUGH! And now I hate my mother even more for never teaching me Spanish because I could have gotten a waiver if I were fluent. I have to figure a way around this because I am NOT staying at Queensborough for three semesters, especially if that third semester is ONE CLASS. There's GOT to be a way around it.

I met up with Lynda, who thoughtfully got me a flag-highlighter. :/ Not the kind of small gift I was hoping to ask when I'm still kicking and screaming.

So she progressed slightly in Twilight Princess (it was slight torture; she doesn't have Zelda Insticts™ yet, so she didn't just automatically do things). We made dinner, and my hands still smell like tuna casserole, wtf. XD Back to the games, and Bastet decided to escape and break something of Lynda's mom's. She yelled at Lynda, and so did Lynda's dad, and I'm just sitting there, whistling and twiddling my thumbs.

And Lynda's nephew Tzvi is OMFG ADORABLE. She said, "My sister does good work."

I'm more cranky than anything (LIFELINE PLZ), and I'd get some sleep, but I'd probably just wind up sleeping until four in the afternoon, as usual. XD This is a weird habit I've fallen into lately....
