Fear not, mes amis, for I am still alive.

Between work and more work and still more work, I haven't had much of anything worth mentioning in the past couple of days. I could keep going on about how Michelle gets on my last nerves, but even that gets boring after a while. And, y'know, because LiveJournal needs more work-drama.

Summary: Nadya, though she had her two weeks' notice in, set to take effect on the sixteenth, hardly lasted a week, and was told to go home on Saturday morning. Friday night was my last shift with Lee Fairy, as she had off on Saturday, and I had off on Sunday. I'm gonna miss her. Saturday, I learned that Carla quit, Michelle continued to get on my nerves, and I taught Ash the closing paperwork, which wouldn't have been so bad, had he decided not to go on break until eight-thirty, wtf. That's why we're not supposed to go on breaks past eight. -_-; Had Michelle not been breathing over my shoulder, I would have just done it all myself. Neither here nor there, since I had today off anyway.

Phill picked me up after work, and fell asleep on my bed again, pulling the sheets off the bed and somehow managing to wear a couple of holes in them. D: So now I need new sheets. Nice, comfy ones, because it's September, and it's gonna get cold faster than I want it to, and faster than I'll expect it to.

And while he was asleep, I wanted to play online so badly, but alas, my internet wasn't working again. Of course, it's fine now. ^_^ Instead, I tried studying for the history quiz I have tomorrow, and I'm even worse off than I was for the quiz I had last week: this time, I really don't know anything, and I'm just thanking the Goddesses that it's multiple choice, so I still have a chance. I don't know why I have this mental block when it comes to studying history; all the information is just words on a page that has no meaning, and I won't remember the sentence as soon as I'm done with it. It's very discouraging, especially when I keep trying, and still don't take anything in (so that's the answer you'll be looking for later, when I just start giving up before I try. This is why. Nothing happens when I do try, so why bother?). SIGH.

Now that my whining quota has been filled, it's time to get to bed. Full day of class tomorrow. Joy.

Minor Update: class

And come to think of it, I don't think I've posted my schedule for this week, so let's cover that first:

Mon 9/10: OFF, obviously, since I'm currently in the Schmeller Library. :::rolls eyes:::
Tue 9/11: 1:00-10:00
Wed 9/12: OFF. Happy New Year! ^_^
Thu 9/13: 9:30-6:30
Fri 9/14: 1:00-10:00
Sat 9/15: 1:00-10:00
Sun 9/16: OFF

Notice anything? I was a bit put out that even though Michelle finally got it right and gave me Wednesday off no question (now that I don't need it for a change, but I'm really not about to tell her that), I noticed that the new people were still getting more hours than me, and that's not cool. So I said that I could handle more hours once or twice a week. And she gives me eight-hour shifts ALL week. :::headdesk::: I mean, it'll be a nicer paycheck, yes, but.... She's still going way over budget for hours; everyone has at least twenty-five, and we're going to lose money.... But whatever.

So, macro is cool. I think I'll enjoy it. ^_^ I've got material for my first test, which should be in two weeks or so, and I'm not too bad with it. American history is going well. Though I'm almost bored to sleep in class, something is sticking because I was able to ACE my quiz this afternoon. And I mean ACE. Maybe I got the last question wrong, but I was done with the thing before the professor was even done handing them out.

However, sociology continues to be the bane of my existence. Not only is it preventing my getting home at a reasonable hour, but I still don't understand WHAT on earth the professor is going on about. I took more notes today than I did last week, but not by much, and I'm not even sure I understand it all. Oh, and the reason the book wasn't in the bookstore? Was because the idiot didn't place the order in time. And when did it arrive in the bookstore? Friday. Yeah. As in, "three days ago." What the fuck.

My grade is divvied up into three bits: class participation (including "optional" writing assignments and quizzes) is forty percent, a final presentation (don't ask me what it's supposed to be about because I haven't the foggiest) is thirty-five percent, and the last twenty-five percent is the paper. Lovely. D-plus, here I come.

Happy birthday, [livejournal.com profile] xoder!
