DEATH.
For my video card. About nine-thirty last night.
The screen flickered, then got all wonky and distorted, then went completely black. A half-second later, my monitor flashed some message that I don't quite remember, but who cares, because it wasn't working. I honestly thought it was my monitor at first, so I went downstairs to try to use that monitor instead. When I hooked everything up, the monitor said it was fine, and I should check the connection, but everything was connected, so I figure it's the video card.
Then I thought I'd be slick and try to swap video cards between my computer and the one that's not working. Only... on that one, the spot for the monitor is kinda attached to the motherboard, so.... I'm a little fucked. (Augh, it was GROSS in there; I'm ashamed at the amount of dust I found. Forget bunnies; I battled a dust rhino (that's a reference to The Far Side, but I can't seem to find the appropriate comic. There is, however, a Celtic rock group called the Dust Rhinos.))
It's really crappy because even though I want to save for a new computer anyway (maybe a laptop ooooh shiny), all my stuff is on that computer, and I kinda can't see what I'm doing so I HAVE to spend the money on a card. ... Unless someone's got one they're not using that they'd like to give me (or let me borrow until I get a new computer)!
But yeah, so that's that. I'm gonna be away from the internet until I can fix this, so heads up. Thank goodness for the internet at work!
P.S., Link's undershirt is almost finished; I have to wait until I'm done with the tunic -- which I'll start tomorrow afternoon -- before I can see how much of the neckline I've got to keep or trim away. But yay!
