BASEBALL CON
John Franco signed my hat and Doc Gooden signed a ball that will be my brother's birthday present and I saw stuff and I did stuff and I took a thousand pictures and WOW.
This... was a convention. It was Big Apple Baseball Fest. As I told Jon, "I've seen cosplayers, got autographs from famous people, bought expensive merch, asked someone where he got his hat, and there are nerds EVERYWHERE." Later on, I even heard people speaking in Japanese. God dammit, if that's not a con, I don't know what is. The only difference is that this one had a lot of room to move. ... Okay, so it was a small con. LEMME TELL YOU THOUGH, it was like my first anime con all over again. Everything was beautiful and awesome and I was filled with wide-eyed wonder.
I got the rest of the apples today! I don't know how I managed it -- probably through pure stubbornness -- but it's done and I can rest easy now. That's good because I've got three blisters on my feet now (left heel, right heel, right pinky toe), they're beyond sore (I'm soaking in the bathtub as I type but I'll still probably have to rub them later), and I have to run tomorrow (so I should really get to sleep, huh). At least the 1.5 isn't competitive (as I've just learned) and I can go at my own pace. That pace will be whatever my sore-ass feet allow me to do.
I was supposed to do stuff with Es after, but given my condition, and that it's supposed to storm tomorrow and stuff is outdoors, well... I think I'll just go home and sleep a lot when I'm done with the race and the post-game festivities.
More tomorrow, because I didn't even scratch the surface of today!
