The sleepiness saga continues.
I got about 5 1/2 hours of sleep, and I've fallen out about three or four times already today. The boring hockey game and evening isn't doing much to help.
Screw this nonsense, let's go back to the All-Star break! The day after my first trip to Fan Fest, Saturday, wasn't much. There was that 5K and Fun Run in Prospect Park that I dragged myself to at ass o'clock in the morning. Because my feet were in so much pain, it took me about an hour to shuffle along the mile and a half for the Fun Run, and another hour after that to find my way out of the park and to the subway. I got home about noon and slept until the evening. When I woke up, my legs and feet were feeling MUCH better, but still not 100%. I was able to walk standing up straight -- yeah, that was a problem before -- but almost up to normal speed. I had to make a conscious effort to take it easy for the rest of the week and make sure I left plenty of time to travel because I couldn't run to make train or bus connections.
Anyway, Sunday was the Futures Game and Celebrity Softball. The Futures Game included MLB prospects from all over, split into Team USA and Team World. Noah Syndergaard, a Mets prospect, started the game. He gave up a hit and struck out a hitter during his single inning of work. Team USA won, 4-2. The Celebrity Softball game included a bunch of former Mets, and one very large Mets fan in Kevin James on the National League team. The NL won, 8-5 in 5 1/2 innings. Here are all the pictures. It was a really nice summer day: not terribly hot or humid, and just the right amount of wind (plus lots of baseball and my team won so yay), so I had a great time.
