Reason to hate Jersey #497-B
Oh no! It's so hot and we don't have air conditioners in the schools! We should let the kids out early, we should!
Fuck you with something hard and sandpapery, New Jersey. There was a kid who fainted in my elementary school once because it was so hot and we MAYBE had a fan (that didn't reach the back of the room. Good thing I'm short and my last name starts with C). Except for computer classes -- which all us SCIENCEITES lived for come May -- there was never an air-conditioned moment in my entire school career, straight up through Queensborough. I certainly wasn't sent home in such weather, either; rather, I had a stifling SCHOOL BUS to look forward to at the end of the day. The fact that Jersey is sending their kiddies home early, or not even bringing them in at all, upsets me. Then again, these are the pussies who close and lose power for a little drizzle.
As for the rest of my day.... The incredible heat continues, but should break on Wednesday. Mom wanted tuna salad for dinner, I suggested tuna casserole instead. Guess who got stuck making it. Not that I mind, since it's the only thing I CAN make, and it's not like I even cook anything, really (seriously, it's "mix everything in a pot and throw it in the oven"). The kitchen is just poorly ventilated. XD
After dinner, I channel surfed for some baseball, since the Mets had a day off (coming home after that abysmal road trip; they have a three-game set against Arizona, followed by some interleague pwn, then back on the road). I was rewarded with Cleveland at Detroit. Normally, I wouldn't watch an AL game, especially not one in the AL Central, but there wasn't much else on. Of course, they suffered some more of THEIR terrible weather, and had an hour-long rain delay. ... Fuckers.
I've been working on Toph's wristbands on and off all day. I feel really listless in all this heat. I got moving eventually -- I suppose dinner and cold drinks spruced me up -- and they're about 2/3 finished, now. Maybe tomorrow I'll get them done if everything fits the way it should.
As for right now, I think I'm going to spend the night on the couch. It's a bit cooler downstairs and the fan there is more powerful. Plus, TV! :D
I think the time difference is fourteen hours, so I'm well within time to wish
_lysia_ a happy birthday! :D
