New York City history. Please skip this. XD

See, Ms. Heenan, this is the shit I was looking for senior year, not American history! *ahem*

LOOK WHAT I FOUND CLEANING MY ROOM!

I'm not sure I've ever told this story before. One summer, I was about thirteen years old, I was in the back of the car going somewhere, driving along Jamaica Ave. in Hollis. I noticed that a pillar at one of the intersections marked Jamaica Ave. as Fulton St., and 193rd Pl. as Hollis Park Blvd. There were a couple of other such pillars, but they only spanned a couple of blocks. I wondered why.

TO THE LIBRARY! (Because every good little adolescent girl should spend her summer with her nose in books. Hey, at least it's air conditioned in there.)

After a bit of rooting around, and a few trips to the Long Island Room at the Central branch, I had my answer, and also found out why Queens has stupid hyphenated addresses unlike the rest of the goddamn country. Of course, I wrote up what I found (keep in mind I was in junior high when I did this. Oh, and it's all written in cursive XD):

I used to be so ambitious (long cut is LOOOOOOOONG) )

Add this to my list of RANDOM SHIT VENUS KNOWS. A demain, mes amis. ♥~
