Halloweekend.
Nov. 1st, 2009 09:45 pmI do not have a new computer (yet). I figured I had more than two hours between work and class, and that should be more than enough time to get the computer I wanted, right?
Figure it was no more than twenty minutes to walk over to Best Buy from work. I was distracted for a moment by a computer that was on on Friday but not Thursday, and moved on after discovering it didn't have enough power. I looked at the computer I wanted once more to realize that it didn't come with wireless internet (how did I miss that)? The card was an additional $30, putting it over $500, which I decided was my limit. The next-best computer had extra stuff I didn't need, but was back at $480, so I figured I'd settle on it. And I could put my wireless card in it, so I wouldn't have to spend extra money.
Now to find a salesperson to ask a few questions before I buy it. ... Now to find a salesperson. ... Find a salesperson. ... Sales... Fuck. So that was at least a half-hour wasted. I want to say it was closer to an hour, but I know time doesn't allow for it. It sure as hell felt that way. Either way, by the time I finally got someone to help me, and get me a computer, and get to the register, there was a person in front of me. ... But then they had to go get change. It was five-thirty, and I was not only crosstown, but downtown. And so I left without my computer. It was extremely annoying.
Class wasn't all that special, either. As for yesterday:
I mean, while it was happening, it was interesting, but Halloween really wasn't all that great this year. I did a shit job on my costume, ran around needlessly for more hours than I should have, and was painfully awkward at the end of it (but the live band was cool and I chatted briefly with the clarinetist/saxophonist, but of course, that too, was awkward).
Oh, and I'm a terrible dancer when it's not choreographed. I have no rhythm. I can't follow leads and I actually step on toes, it's incredibly bad.
At least I got to see most of the people I haven't seen since NYAF. :/
I'm leaving Pratt in about fifteen minutes. But Laura and I are having fun watching Slumdog Millionaire and seeing nothing but Zuko as yesterday when we watched Hocus Pocus and saw nothing but Nicole as Mary. XD
I hope this week is more interesting than last week.
Holy shit, it's November (and Standard Time, too (NaBloPoMo, go!)). When the hell did this happen?
