Let's trade hockey for some Berryz Koubou shit, shall we? Thankfully, it wasn't a terrible nightmare.

Oh god. )

I have severe issues, this should come as no surprise to you.

Section 406. :3c

Canucks are still in first by a point despite losing in OT and Detroit winning. Rangers drop to third overall, but play Carolina on Thursday and have three games in hand over both teams. Boston lost tonight, so the Eastern lead stays at nine points. Pittsburgh is in second in the ATL, but is still also nine points behind the Rangers, and the Rangers have a game in hand. Sweet.

Also, from yesterday, because I finally found an image with all seven of them in it:

Incomplete lyrics for Be Genki (Naseba Naru!). Was able to catch a video on Facebook from H!P's winter concert, and there was a big screen with subtitles in the back of the stage. My listening comprehension's still not very good (especially for Risako: I can hardly understand a word she says ;A;), but I got most of it. *puffs up proudly* There are some words I think I hear, but I'm not entirely sure, so they're not included.

VENUS YOU'RE A NERD )

This song is stuck in my head hardcore. I wanna learn the daaaaance.

Today was a good day. :D

I got paid. This is always a good thing. Of course, they still owe me money and as of this morning, I haven't heard word of when I'm going to get it....

I went skating. And it was great! I got there just after two, and they didn't have to clear the ice until 3:45, there were so few people there. I felt a little awkward at first, being there alone, but then I just looked at it as exercise -- don't need to do anything fancy, just need to skate -- and I felt much better. I wish they had cleaned the ice and sent people around the other way, because I was starting to get sore on one side from going in the same direction for so long! It felt nice to have relatively open ice and a decent amount of room to pick up some speed. And not-cruddy-within-twenty-minutes-ice to skate on. *7*

Found a beautiful Zelda book at Kino. I must have it. I don't care if it's $60, I'll find a way. It's got so much cool STUFF in it, like the alphabet and syllabary codes, and some pictures of Tingle and shit. Goes through all the games, the main characters. I nostalgiaed pretty hard at the old stuff. MUST BE MIIIIINE. Tax return. Yes. I have decided. This is what I've earned slaving at Baruch. THIS BEAUTY. I also got a strawberry rubber stamp and a cute little hedgehog eraser in the stationery section. I thought I saw a KOALA eraser, but alas, it was an elephant: the trunk was a separate piece.

The Rangers and Canucks won. After that BRUTAL game on Tuesday, the Rangers bounced back tonight with a 4-3 OT win against Tampa Bay. What were the highlights? Ryan Callahan's power play goal to open scoring on our side and Brad Richards' goal to win the game. Marty made a couple of sweet game-saving stops on Steve Stamkos (my god, he has beautiful eyes. A little freaky, but beautiful. Biron, not Stamkos. XD). Wasn't watching the Canucks game, since it was on at the same time as the Rangers, but they won 5-2: Daniel got the first goal and Ryan got the last one.

And speaking of my Ryans being beasts, the Sabres shut out the Bruins --the Bruins! -- yesterday, SIX to nothing.

That's right, Ryan. You keep being sexy. (Thanks, [livejournal.com profile] jennybenz. :D) And it's especially awesome because it kept the Rangers three points up on 'em.

I mean, some not-so-great things happened, too. The Islanders beat the Flyers Tuesday, but Philly edged Toronto 4-3 tonight, and the Isles fell to the freakin' Habs. Scott Gomez scored, you guys. Augh. Screw them. I mean, I don't like the Islanders, but only because I have to; I'd pity them otherwise. But Montreal? EW. And next year's Winter Classic is going to be Toronto and Detroit. I'm excited about Toronto -- hurray, a Canadian team! -- but ... Detroit? Again? We just had Philly, again, and last year Pittsburgh, again. Can we please feature teams that haven't been to the Classic before we double up any more? That's ridiculous and stupid. Yes, let's make hockey a bigger deal in places where it's already a big deal. 9_9 Anyway, back to happy.

Yesterday, I saw a video where Momoko got pushed around. And it's fucking hilarious. She's almost twenty, I really wish H!P would knock it off with her cutesy/vain persona already, because it's really annoying, and it makes me hate her. :D She has so much potential to sound cool, at least, like she does here, or better, here. Hard to believe that's the same person. :|

I'm tired at a decent hour! So I'm pretty much going to read until I fall asleep right after this. I went to bed late last night, and woke up -- magically -- early this morning, without an alarm clock, then I went and skated and suffered a bit of food coma so I'm done for the evening. But, yes, a good day. And I hope tomorrow's even better! :D

So Guillermo sent me a link a few hours ago, and it was an old commercial. Cue my looking through the related videos of related videos of related videos for some of my favorites. '80s and '90s children, you're welcome:

This way to the rabbit hole. )

What are some of your favorite commercials from when you were kids, flist?

Aaaaaand this morning I had a Berryz Koubou dream. Chinami, Momoko, and Maasa were in it. Chinami thought she was all incognito and unrecognizable, but I saw her! The conversation started in Japanese, but she decided she wanted to practice her English a little, and so we switched (and she was really good, lol). Then Momo and Maasa walked in and Momo was complaining about something and dramatically threw herself on a bed, face-down (she didn't even notice me or Chinami), while Maasa just kinda looked at her funny and hung out, sitting on the edge of the bed. I think Momo fell asleep after a while.

I don't even know where we were. It was a gray room, painted drywall, with a bed in the corner -- but a large bed, maybe queen-sized? -- a metal or plastic folding table with six wooden chairs around it across the room, a wooden door that opened outward, and a small picture on the wall in a wooden frame. There was a naked lightbulb above the door, but it was very bright, and I couldn't see if it stuck out of the wall or if it hung down; incandescent or CFL. I couldn't see what the picture was, either, but I think it might have been a painted landscape. There were no windows, and there was a dude in a suit observing. I don't know if he was supposed to make sure I didn't fangirl over the girls or what. I like how the description of the room is longer than the description of the dream.

HEY THERE!

I hope everyone had an awesome new year. :D I was at Leigh's party, and it was fun. Most of the guests left around two in the morning, but a couple (literally a couple) stayed behind and we were up until five bullshitting. When we woke up, we bullshitted some more! It was lovely.

Today, since I wasn't going anywhere near Philadelphia, I jumped on the subway for a very small (i.e., just us) Winter Classic viewing party at Es'. In short, the Rangers game back from two goals down late in the second to win 3-2. )

OH, MIKEY. this was pretty much the only .gif i could find. i mean, the others were the same thing, just from different angles; this was the best of them.

I mean, the only real bad news I've got about the Rangers isn't even their fault: since my cable company quit carrying MSG as of the new year, I can't watch the vast majority of games on television anymore (not that I was before, but now I can't even try to sneak them in). Thank goodness for the internet -- because I know my parents wouldn't change the service after twenty-odd years -- or I'd be a most unhappy camper. Or maybe I could chill with Es and Olua more, since theirs are different. :V

Also awesome about today: Berryz Koubou finally announced their next single. It sounds like it has potential~ and I'm diggin' those outfits. :D

So far, 2012, so good.

Mom: Venus, are you going to be here tomorrow?
Me: No, actually, I have to go to work.
Mom: Oh, well, if you see Dad come in with the groceries, help him.
Me: ... But I'm going to be at work.
Mom: I didn't hear that part.
Me: That was all that I said!

It's not me, right? It's everyone else that's stupid? I'm just wondering, because I like to think one occurrence is chance, two is coincidence, and three is a trend, but this is the third one. It's not me, right? I just wanna make sure.

Some interesting things I found on the internet. One, then ten colleges with the least happy students, as determined by the Princeton Review. I wasn't surprised to see a few of the military schools on this list, but I fell out of my chair laughing at number ten.... (pssst, that's where I work.)

Also, those giant flea-things that you had to kill to get the Tears of Light in Twilight Princess? Yeah, those are real (seriously, trigger warning, it's a giant bug, and if you're freaked out by bugs, you won't like it, I promise you).

This happened today and I had no idea until I was on my way home and I got caught in it. Not so much "caught in it," since I wasn't carried downtown by the mob, but more like "I had a tough time trying to figure out how to cross Broadway with the march and all the cops not letting people through." I saw a family (they looked like tourists, the poor things) sneak their way through, so I followed closely behind them.

I figured out the hand thing for Munasawagi (mostly. I think)! This is mostly right, it was just hard to tell what goes on which counts. I know what to do now, it's just a matter of getting my body to do it. Speaking of dancing, there's also this. If I could speak a lick of Korean and didn't wanna be imprisoned for five months ("home school"? But I'm thirty!), I would totally give this a go. I might half-ass it just for the hell of it. I got nothing to lose except time I'd be wasting on the internet anyway, right?

ARYAAAAAAAAA~ I'm glad she actually cut her hair because the wig she wore in S01E10 was atrocious (please continue to be awesome, Maisie).

Hmmm, feels like I'm missing something... :|a Rangers won (3rd in the league! Minnesota and Pittsburgh have played quite a few more games, though), coming back from a goal down in the first, 5-3. Canucks are down two at the end of one, without Mason Raymond, because the paperwork to get him back on the team didn't go through in time? So I hear. What nonsense!

Finally, it's December 1, so it's Decembertime card time!! If you'd like a card, please leave your address in the comments (they're screened, of course), along with your preference of holiday (a religious one or a New Year's one or general Decembery goodness), and I'll be happy to send you one (Cherry, I've already got yours; I'm actually putting your gift in the mail tomorrow)! ♥

P.S. This "post every day" thing is a tough habit to break; expect me to spam your feed for at least half of the next week. XD

While I was kept rather busy at work today (wanna piss me off? Give me fifty of the same things to do, but piecemeal), I've done nothing since getting home. Rather, I've done a lot of one thing, and that thing is sleeping. Since six or so, I've slept about four and a half hours. It's eleven. I'm bored and I have nothing to do and I'm feeling mopey and lonely, so sleep is the best fix of all three of those.

I've been relatively flying through A Clash of Kings. Now that I have a better picture of what's going on in my mind, it's not so boring. I'm now second (of two) in the queue for The Omen Machine, so I need to read faster! Hopefully, I get a lot of that accomplished tomorrow. Not looking forward to it at all. Just gonna keep telling myself that in twenty-four hours, I'll be back home and comfortable. Holidays keep getting worse and worse and I would rather have some teeth pulled. Should look into getting that mini fridge for next month, and a rope ladder so I don't have to leave through the house (THIS IS HOW BAD I AM).

So it looks like ichiP! and P*P are going to collab on Munasawagi Scarlet for AnimeNEXT. As it was my suggestion, I'm pretty damn excited. I don't know how we're going to work this out, and I should probably start sketching it up just to do it. At times, it hits me: OMG BERRYZ KOUBOU but other times, I'm pretty indifferent because chances are I'm going to miss them just like I do everyone else, and whatever ichiPeach! (which is what I call us in my head, because Paradise*Pantsu is a BAD IDEA) winds up doing will be just another show. All my panels will be scheduled during Berryz' shit, watch (though if they don't post group rates soon, I'm gonna prereg alone. Not like I won't get my money back). :V

Here's where [livejournal.com profile] jennybenz's meme runs out; rather, it has one question left, but I'll save that for next week. Question that I'm snatching from the other meme is 20. Who has the best rivalry? I don't know too much about other rivalries around the NHL (though Leafs/Habs seems like it would be fun if I were a fan of either team Toronto (because ew Montreal)), but here's what I do know:

•I've been told I should hate the Blackhawks like a good little Canucks fan should. :D Obviously, also Boston, those fuckers. >:(
[livejournal.com profile] jennybenz, help me out. Who don't I like because of Buffalo?
•More like the Islanderps, amirite?
•They're from Jersey, haven't they been punished enough? (No.)
•More like the Broad Street Bullshit, amirite?

Herp, locality. Three teams within ~100 miles of the Rangers, derp.

Speaking of the Rangers, they fell 2-1 to Florida tonight (Canucks are winning 2-0 after two, though!). Okay, so I guess our next seven-game run will start on Friday. We've got, um... awwww, Washingto-- dammit, Philly on Saturday?! D: The third game is against the Penguins, and while I didn't include them in the rivalry bit, I can't wait to beat them: Crosby's back, so I hear, and it's always fun to make everyone's favorite princess cry. >D

So, maybe I'll listen to the third period, maybe I'll read a little more. I won't eat because I'm not hungry, but I'll certainly be back in bed before midnight. Just... continue ignoring me, it's okay. I'd rather you did; it's not like I'm not used to it.

Which do you want first?

The good news! )

The bad news. )

Dad's scarf is awesome. I did a lot of work on it and I'm back on pace! \o/ I've still got a bit to go, but even if I don't finish it tonight, it's a lot less left for tomorrow than I had to do today (and worse comes to worst, I can bring it with me on my commute on Tuesday). Canucks are currently beating the Isles 3-1 in the third -- a game I can actually watch! -- and I will thoroughly enjoy watching my teams gang up on and beat Dad's twice in three nights. XD

10. Do you/have you ever played hockey? Um, we played indoor ball hockey in gym class in junior high school, does that count? I have a very distinct memory of being a SHITTY goalie (I didn't wanna be goalie, it made no sense. I was even smaller then than I am now). XD New York's a very basebally-basketbally town, especially in the city proper, where we don't have all the space necessary for hockey (or football). Let's be honest: I can't even skate very well. I can stay on my feet, and going fast is really fun, but I don't have the greatest control once I get going. XD

Ahhhhh, my own computer! /retreats to self-imposed bedroom seclusion (not rly i'm watching the mets)

So they said there was nothing wrong with him hardware-wise? IDK, whatever, I'm just glad I didn't have to pay for anything. Cherry thinks they were BSing me (especially after I told her they wanted $200 to fix the problems!), and I'm inclined to agree. I like to think myself careful.

I've got more awesome news, but I don't know if I'm allowed to say it publicly yet. :DDDD It's so good, though!

I'm going to Laura's this weekend, and I think part of our mission will be to make a FUCK YEAH MAASA SUDOU (lookit that fierce bitch!) Tumblr. Maasa's birthday is on Sunday, which means we have to launch it. :D

Mets are winning 2-0 in the top of the 4th in Detroit. That's all I got for today. Vote Reyes! OMFG YAY HE JUST HIT HIS FIFTEENTH TRIPLE YEEEEEEEEEEEEEESSSSS

Edit: OH SHIT DAT INNING

Edit: The Mets won 14-3. TWO GRAND SLAMSSSSSSSSS. Also, I think my mom saw an opossum. I didn't know we had opossums here! I know we have raccoons, but I thought the opossums stayed out on Long Island.

Also: the "all articles point to philosophy" Wiki thing ne marche pas en français.

Edit: OH SHIT DIS GAME It's 13-0 after 4 2/3 guys WHAT. It's so sad: even if a mercy rule were in effect, it couldn't take effect until after Detroit's next at-bat. XD

THURSDAY )

FRIDAY )

Game Two tomorrow night! Oh, and unrelatedly, I found a Berryz Koubou fan blog. I've been reading that for the past couple of hours. Yup. But it's got great things, like Chinami speaking English. Some of Berryz are pretty good at English, but Chinami's is classic, though Momoko gives her a bit of a run.... /NERD

ELEPHANT. :|

But I would still like to know how you use the three seashells tip a stripper in Canada.

So I was watching the game tonight and the announcers mentioned how some dude on the Astros was leading the league in stolen bases. He had about a dozen more than the dudes in second place. I was watching the game by myself -- there was no one else in the house -- and I couldn't help but quip aloud, "Seems like he's run away with that title!"

Caaaarloooos!

That, combined with the pun in the title, means I obviously need to be put out of my misery.

Pelf was on the hill tonight. Seems he's gone 3-1 in his last four. HO HO HO THAT ONE. Angel made a great play out in left-center; the camera angle showed Beltran alone, originally, and the ball was off to his right, no chance in hell. Pagan comes outta nowhere, stretches, and catches the ball. Because he was off balance, he did a little roll over his shoulder. When he came up, the ball ice cream coned a little, but he still had control of it, but got caught up in his own leg and rolled again.

Phillies also lost, Yankees and Tampa lost. Hawaii stomped all over Georgia in the LLWS.

In non-baseball shit, I've been working on Special Generation -- one of our new songs for NYAF, and the one I'm responsible for choreographing and teaching -- all day. It's tough, man. I got the first part of it all right, mostly, but deciding what to keep and what to scrap is tough, especially when I can't see what half the girls are doing most of the time. I've got about ten different tabs open, each with a different vid from a different angle in a different quality from a different time (some have Maiha, some don't, lol), but they help only minimally; they'll clear up one thing here and there, maybe. Guh. Back to work.

(LOL New tag.)

Oh man, it's the end of the year. *dreamy sigh* Looks like I'm gonna make it, folks! I'm still happy. It was damn near sunset when I left work today -- it might as well have been, for all the buildings -- but I still found happiness and peace in the half-lit sky as I walked through the park on the way to the train station. I love that park. ♥ And while looking at the sky, I noticed a giant clock on the side of a building that I'd never noticed before! It was on time, too, which made me wonder how long it had been there, and who keeps it in working condition. Or maybe it was stopped and pure chance brought me by at exactly 4:23. I suppose I'll check tomorrow morning, if I'm not so groggy that I forget.

And I'm going to have to winterize my bed soon -- it's not yet, I can't believe it -- but I'm okay with that. December 21 is rapidly approaching, which means the sun will slowly start to come back into my life.... *_*

Little!Jimmy inadvertently gave me a fantastic idea for Decemberween, just something to spruce up our desk a little bit. We're going to be working on this project over the next couple of weeks. Should be fun, if I can get all the materials together! That was pretty much all that happened at work: I cleaned up some of the loose papers on my desk, and the dance shot for Watashi no Mirai no Danna-Sama is finally posted, though, so I ran through that once before I pretended to toy with the website (there's nothing more I can do on that front, it seems). I got quite a bit of it wrong. XD

Made it to the library today and scanned Sunday's souvenir photo (much clearer, yes? Ice's hair got a little lost thanks to the greenscreen, lmao (DERP DERP HTML FAIL, you should be able to see it now)). And now I'm home.

Oooh, Decembertime cards! For those of you who've already requested and given me your mailing addresses, I bought cards for you today, and they'll be in the mail tomorrow afternoon (I meant to have them out today, but since I'd left my wallet at home yesterday....). If anyone else would like a Decembertime card, please let me know, and drop your address in a comment; posts are screened (posts that do not contain addresses will be unscreened). As for my penpals, if you'd like a Decembertime card instead of a letter -- WHICH I WILL SEND I SWEAR, I just gotta find decent stationery! All that I can find is stuff left over from Girl Scout camp XD -- that's cool, too, just say so. Let me know if you'd rather get a winter card instead of a holiday card, too; I don't wanna step on anyone's toes.

Hmmm, that's about all. I'm going to see if I can't do a little work on that Decemberween project. :3

Berryz Koubou is putting out another double A-side single to be released on November 4. It'll be called "Ryuusei Boy/Watashi no Mirai no Danna-sama" (流星ボーイ/私の未来のだんな様)" I think they're about due for another ballad, but they can't both be. So I'm excited for us (all of us). I just hope it's barfingly adorable enough, because Omakase is gonna be tough to beat, AMIRITE! XD No further detail yet, and not even a preview clip on YouTube. D:

For ichiP!: someone suggested that we do a Buono! song, but wasn't specific about which one. The problem with Buono! is that there are only three of them, and they use the "hey, we have three members!" schtick a lot, and there are four of us. You can sneak a fourth into some of them, though, I think. I just looked at all of their singles (they only have eight), and some of them look doable, if a little... je ne sais quoi. I kinda like Co.no.mi.chi, though.

Also, Guardians 4 has a new single out, but no dance shot, so I'm working on gleaning what I can from the PV. There isn't much. ^_^; Edit, 15 Sep 1431 - I LIED. A dance shot was JUST posted. :D I've got the verse and chorus written up for now, will work on the rest tomorrow.

I need a new tag for this faggotry.

I think I need to be the first brown person on latfw.com. Who wants to help me? :D
