Lots of sleep, lots of Zelda. I haven't gotten much farther, though. I'm just running around.

Watching the Rangers game; it's 1-0 NYR after 2 in Nashville. Prince Cam is in the net tonight, and doing a hella job! The Canucks beat Columbus last night, 6-2, ending their five-game skid.

It's cold tonight! My phone's telling me it's 33 degrees! It's even snowing (though not terribly hard, and it's not gonna be a lot. It's only sticking because it started after sunset and it's so cold)! ... Is it July yet? :(

Thread: What was your biggest "I don't belong here" moment?

I go to anime conventions fairly often, about three or four times a year, and I cosplay a lot, though I'm still considered a beginner craftsman. Several years ago, I won a cosplay contest and part of my prize was a ticket to Costume Con (more about the art of making costumes than anything, which, as a novice-level cosplayer, I was super-excited about)! Man, I was gonna meet lots of people and learn lots of things and improve and it was gonna be incredible and magical! Right? Wrong. Biggest circlejerk I've ever witnessed. Most of the costumers there were expeeeeerienced costumers. I was in my late 20s, but there were people there who'd been master-level since before I was born. Their costumes were beautiful, don't get me wrong, but everyone knew each other, and everyone was at a higher level than I was, most of the awards went to the same people, so it seemed very exclusive. When I managed the courage to strike up conversation with some of the other attendees, it felt really patronizing, especially because I hadn't paid for my own ticket. I had the opposite of a good time (not to mention the one costume I did bring and bother to wear was a poor choice, though I couldn't have possibly known that in advance).

That was a bummer, but I've got a story about owning my not-belonging-ness too: I'm used to being the token brown person among my friends (as I was at Costume Con), so it was business as usual when one of them took me to my first hockey game. Our teams are rivals, but I was on the good side of the crowd and the outcome that night, so all the heckling was focused on her. But when I took another of my friends to a game a few months later, and we slipped into Spanglish, did we ever get some dirty looks. Now we do it on purpose because the reactions are hilarious, especially when we go to away games!

Also I'm playing ALBW, after spending the bus ride not being able to set it up, after downloading the damned thing, after passing out in the middle of the day because I couldn't sleep last night and the coffee I got before I left wasn't very strong, and after dinner. It's cute! I'm only up to the first dungeon, though. I tried liveblogging it on tumblr (WARNING: SPOILERS), but I have too many thoughts so I've given up on that for now. Just gonna focus on playing. :)

For the second time ever, I've officially rage quit and given up hope of beating a Zelda game. RIP Skyward Sword; your motion controls and I are entirely incompatible.

Today was a good day. :D

I got paid. This is always a good thing. Of course, they still owe me money and as of this morning, I haven't heard word of when I'm going to get it....

I went skating. And it was great! I got there just after two, and they didn't have to clear the ice until 3:45, there were so few people there. I felt a little awkward at first, being there alone, but then I just looked at it as exercise -- don't need to do anything fancy, just need to skate -- and I felt much better. I wish they had cleaned the ice and sent people around the other way, because I was starting to get sore on one side from going in the same direction for so long! It felt nice to have relatively open ice and a decent amount of room to pick up some speed. And not-cruddy-within-twenty-minutes-ice to skate on. *7*

Found a beautiful Zelda book at Kino. I must have it. I don't care if it's $60, I'll find a way. It's got so much cool STUFF in it, like the alphabet and syllabary codes, and some pictures of Tingle and shit. Goes through all the games, the main characters. I nostalgiaed pretty hard at the old stuff. MUST BE MIIIIINE. Tax return. Yes. I have decided. This is what I've earned slaving at Baruch. THIS BEAUTY. I also got a strawberry rubber stamp and a cute little hedgehog eraser in the stationery section. I thought I saw a KOALA eraser, but alas, it was an elephant: the trunk was a separate piece.

The Rangers and Canucks won. After that BRUTAL game on Tuesday, the Rangers bounced back tonight with a 4-3 OT win against Tampa Bay. What were the highlights? Ryan Callahan's power play goal to open scoring on our side and Brad Richards' goal to win the game. Marty made a couple of sweet game-saving stops on Steve Stamkos (my god, he has beautiful eyes. A little freaky, but beautiful. Biron, not Stamkos. XD). Wasn't watching the Canucks game, since it was on at the same time as the Rangers, but they won 5-2: Daniel got the first goal and Ryan got the last one.

And speaking of my Ryans being beasts, the Sabres shut out the Bruins --the Bruins! -- yesterday, SIX to nothing.

That's right, Ryan. You keep being sexy. (Thanks, [livejournal.com profile] jennybenz. :D) And it's especially awesome because it kept the Rangers three points up on 'em.

I mean, some not-so-great things happened, too. The Islanders beat the Flyers Tuesday, but Philly edged Toronto 4-3 tonight, and the Isles fell to the freakin' Habs. Scott Gomez scored, you guys. Augh. Screw them. I mean, I don't like the Islanders, but only because I have to; I'd pity them otherwise. But Montreal? EW. And next year's Winter Classic is going to be Toronto and Detroit. I'm excited about Toronto -- hurray, a Canadian team! -- but ... Detroit? Again? We just had Philly, again, and last year Pittsburgh, again. Can we please feature teams that haven't been to the Classic before we double up any more? That's ridiculous and stupid. Yes, let's make hockey a bigger deal in places where it's already a big deal. 9_9 Anyway, back to happy.

Yesterday, I saw a video where Momoko got pushed around. And it's fucking hilarious. She's almost twenty, I really wish H!P would knock it off with her cutesy/vain persona already, because it's really annoying, and it makes me hate her. :D She has so much potential to sound cool, at least, like she does here, or better, here. Hard to believe that's the same person. :|

I'm tired at a decent hour! So I'm pretty much going to read until I fall asleep right after this. I went to bed late last night, and woke up -- magically -- early this morning, without an alarm clock, then I went and skated and suffered a bit of food coma so I'm done for the evening. But, yes, a good day. And I hope tomorrow's even better! :D

You know a while ago when you fucked with the entry formatting and people bitched? And you know how people were glad you didn't fuck with the comment formatting? Yeah. Change that shit back. It's like... I feel like I'm fucking 20/200.

So apparently they're spreading rumors about me at work? LOL Saying that I quit? Next few weeks should be fun, mm-hmm.

Rangers beat the Devils 4-1. Three third period goals, including a shorthanded one, and an empty netter. I bought tickets for the Canucks/Devils game on February 24 so I'mma go chill with Theresa and see my boys play a second time. :D God, it's only December! But the second episode of 24/7 is on later tonight~

Finishing up that ALttP game I started ages ago, and then I guess I'll get to bed. Wonder what I'm going to do tomorrow.

Have a retardedly long survey because I haven't done one in forever! )

Mom: Venus, are you going to be here tomorrow?
Me: No, actually, I have to go to work.
Mom: Oh, well, if you see Dad come in with the groceries, help him.
Me: ... But I'm going to be at work.
Mom: I didn't hear that part.
Me: That was all that I said!

It's not me, right? It's everyone else that's stupid? I'm just wondering, because I like to think one occurrence is chance, two is coincidence, and three is a trend, but this is the third one. It's not me, right? I just wanna make sure.

Some interesting things I found on the internet. One, then ten colleges with the least happy students, as determined by the Princeton Review. I wasn't surprised to see a few of the military schools on this list, but I fell out of my chair laughing at number ten.... (pssst, that's where I work.)

Also, those giant flea-things that you had to kill to get the Tears of Light in Twilight Princess? Yeah, those are real (seriously, trigger warning, it's a giant bug, and if you're freaked out by bugs, you won't like it, I promise you).

This happened today and I had no idea until I was on my way home and I got caught in it. Not so much "caught in it," since I wasn't carried downtown by the mob, but more like "I had a tough time trying to figure out how to cross Broadway with the march and all the cops not letting people through." I saw a family (they looked like tourists, the poor things) sneak their way through, so I followed closely behind them.

I figured out the hand thing for Munasawagi (mostly. I think)! This is mostly right, it was just hard to tell what goes on which counts. I know what to do now, it's just a matter of getting my body to do it. Speaking of dancing, there's also this. If I could speak a lick of Korean and didn't wanna be imprisoned for five months ("home school"? But I'm thirty!), I would totally give this a go. I might half-ass it just for the hell of it. I got nothing to lose except time I'd be wasting on the internet anyway, right?

ARYAAAAAAAAA~ I'm glad she actually cut her hair because the wig she wore in S01E10 was atrocious (please continue to be awesome, Maisie).

Hmmm, feels like I'm missing something... :|a Rangers won (3rd in the league! Minnesota and Pittsburgh have played quite a few more games, though), coming back from a goal down in the first, 5-3. Canucks are down two at the end of one, without Mason Raymond, because the paperwork to get him back on the team didn't go through in time? So I hear. What nonsense!

Finally, it's December 1, so it's Decembertime card time!! If you'd like a card, please leave your address in the comments (they're screened, of course), along with your preference of holiday (a religious one or a New Year's one or general Decembery goodness), and I'll be happy to send you one (Cherry, I've already got yours; I'm actually putting your gift in the mail tomorrow)! ♥

P.S. This "post every day" thing is a tough habit to break; expect me to spam your feed for at least half of the next week. XD

Today was pretty damn cool~

So Katie, Shannon, and I agreed to meet at IHOP on 14th St. at 10:30. I got there at 11, because my bus was being a butt. They didn't get there until ten to noon. :| It was cold and I was tired and hungry and they didn't tell me where they were when I called ("Don't worry about it." SKDFLKSJDLFKJSD I HATE THAAAAAAT). I might have bitten off a head or two....

But we had pancakes and coffee, and we took the train up to Times Square. The Mario thing, I'm gonna admit, looked pretty LAAAAAME on the outside, and it was a lot smaller than I thought it was going to be (but considering where it was and what it was, y'know, of course it was gonna be small). Regardless, Katie and I headed into the bathroom in Toys R Us to change (which took a while, because Katie's never done ears before, and I'd somehow left mine at home). Oh, did I mention? We went to the Mario promo as Link and Mido. :3c Yup, I took my shitty Link cosplay out of retirement for an afternoon.

Back outside, we took video and a few pictures of Mido refusing to let Link pass. And we tried to get in the stupid area, but they weren't letting anyone in, supposedly. Made no sense, really, because there were new faces coming out all the time, and certainly if people left, others could go in? Whatever. We were reduced to walking about, mostly, and I pulled out my ocarina -- which I still can't play -- and puzzled out a few notes. I figured out the beginnings of Zelda's Lullaby and Epona's Song, at least.

I love Epona's Song; it's my favorite grey-note. ... I don't know why I spelled it "grey" just now. :|

Anywho, people loved our costumes, and it seemed as though we were stopped and turning around for pictures every few seconds (I found [livejournal.com profile] ahvia! Rather, she found me). I usually posed with my ocarina, until I dropped it. =A= So now I've got to boil the stupid thing and hope that it doesn't warp or that the paint doesn't come off. FFFFFF But even some Nintendo people took our pictures (and I felt like such an ass for not having my ears). One of the marketing dudes even asked us if we'd been in the promo area yet, and we said we couldn't get in. We got the silly moustaches they were handing out, but we couldn't even get the Tanooki ears and tails; they were long gone. Marketing Guy beckoned us over to the side and gave us the special bracelets

*holds overhead, item found music*

that we needed to get inside. So we went. AND OH MAN IT WAS FUN. We took lots of stupid pictures of jumping on trampolines that made coin-get noises and sliding down warp pipe!slides. I don't have time to get to mine tonight, and I wanna wait for Shannon's and Katie's anyway, so they'll be up eventually? Anyway.

My hat was starting to be a butt and not staying on my head, so we changed into normal clothes. Katie's ears took forever to come off. She had no idea what she was doing, so I had to do it, and I didn't know if I was pulling too hard, or if the glue was dissolving or what. Our plan was to head back down to 14th for ramen, but we didn't feel like it and we were right near Kino, so that's where we wound up like losers. XD I burned my mouth on kimchi, and I swear my tongue and lips were swollen. :( It was actually painful, which is a shitty experience with food. We discussed possible skits for conventions (what? Skits without dancing? IMPOSSIBLE!), seal clubbing (no, like, going to a dance club ... with seals), SWAG, we shopped around, walked around the park (THE RINK IS UP ALREADY I NEED SKAAAAAATES) and were eventually on our separate ways.

I'm SO TIRED from lugging around my heavy bag and getting little sleep and going everywhere and lskdjflsdkjfl. Even with the slow and late start, it was worth it. :D I'm gonna sleep so soundly tonight.

OMG and my aunt sent me an inhaler. The little red ones that taste sweet and awesome. *_* sldkfjlsdkjf

Hockey meme, almost forgot: 9. What's the farthest you've traveled for a hockey game? 2435 miles (3919 km), apparently. Whoops!

I'm so far behind on Dad's scarf on account of yesterday and today. Fortunately, tomorrow's a big nothing until nineish, so maybe I can get work done? I did a lot yesterday morning! Mmmm, I'm in such a good mood (I did skim the posts I made for NaBlo '08, to see how many words I've written -- if all of my NaBlo were put towards a NaNo effort, I still wouldn't have enough -- and it was all so sad. I was in such deep despair, I wish I could go back in time and give myself a hug. D:)! Let's hope the good spirits continue through the rest of the weekend! ♥

Scavenger hunt clues are done, I've just gotta rewrite, organize, find some appropriate images. Thanks for your help, Es! ♥

Hostel is booked (it's not a million miles away from Rogers Arena, so that's good?)! Next step: change money at Roosevelt Field (maybe next weekend? I do need more candles).

Today: hung out with Es and some dudes in our group, since dance practice was cancelled. Cooed over pretty Marine uniforms at surplus store (the USMC dress uniform is seriously one of the sexiest uniforms ever, oh my fucking hoo-rah). Walked around the park trying to figure stuff out for a couple of hours. Caffeinated, internetted, went home.

I got home in 57 minutes. A NEW RECORD! 7:58 when I swiped my MetroCard, 8:55 when I walked in the door. HOW EVEN and why can't this happen on a weekday?!

Reading A Game of Thrones. Bran was just... well.

I've got that game of ALttP still waiting to be finished....

And Hetalia Day is a thing. Not much happening. Trying to get a mod meeting going so we can decide who else is worthy of modship (we're running short), but everyone's going to the Renn Faire this weekend. D'oh. Okay, so we'll Facebook it instead of going out for lunch, but I'm still gonna hang with Kendra again. ♥

By the way, everyone, thanks for all the '90s songs! I'm still listening to all of them, trying to decide which ones I should keep. *_* all of them

Having started this post over an hour and a half ago, I'm happy to say that I'm finally feeling my body slow down. That's awesome, but I'm not sure if it's the medicine or that it's nearly one in the morning. Oh well. Also, being disjointed means it's bedtime. Sleep well, self.

Okay, so here's yesterday.

Work: there's finally nothing to do, and as I was fed up with the 700-odd forms to file sitting on my desk for the past two and a half months, I got off my ass and started to file them, whatever Millie would say be damned. And you know what? I made a lot of headway. Between yesterday and Wednesday, I got my pile of 757 (I'd been keeping track so I could bitch) down to just 150. There were some hangups that prevented me from finishing -- I didn't get to go through all the places where folders hide -- but I reduced what was on my desk by 80%. It's in two piles and it's gorgeous.

Hetalia Day: I sent out a message yesterday to the admins so everyone could pick their jobs for this year's event. There's been a pretty good response so far, about half the people involved have volunteered for positions with no conflicts. I'm working on setting up all the documents that each staff member will be responsible for; that'll happen today. The scavenger hunt is also making little bits of progress and slowly getting done. ... I'm going to be forced into the president's spot again, aren't I? XD

Friends: yesterday Fred hosted the third annual end-of-summer Olive Garden trip. He, Max, Erica, Bethany, Es, and I stuffed our faces, and we had an awesome waiter. Everything he said was a joke, but the best came at the end of the evening. I split the bill (it was almost an even six-way split, save mine, Es's, and Bethany's desserts), and only two people paid with cash (shit like that infuriates me, guys. Don't pay by card if you don't ask for separate bills, seriously), so we had to explain how much was to go on each card. Thank goodness they were all the same! I was sitting in the middle of the table, though, so Fred, who's Chinese, handed the cards and the money to the waiter and told him how much to charge.

"Okay. Hey, Asians are pretty good at math, aren't they?"

Laughter. Laughter EVERYWHERE. The guy seriously got like a 30% tip.

Demo ... mou ajiajin da? wwww

But seriously, the food sapped all the energy out of me and I was in bed just after midnight for the first time in forever. Of course, this morning I was woken up after not enough sleep thanks to Bradley's wailing and some lawnmowers.

Home: the tree in the middle of the street was cut down into pieces Wednesday, but they hadn't moved any of it as of about twelve hours ago. I suppose that'll happen today, since tomorrow is garbage day and the sanitation trucks will need to get through. ... I meant to post a picture. >.>;;;

Friday: Abi is now Lady Abigail of Sealand; in honor of Sealand's birthday, I bought her title today. Best. First credit card purchase. Ever. (Her wedding is next spring and I'm one of her bridesmaids, so I needed to get her a nice gift anyway.) ... Where did the time go?

I played some ALttP today. I'm in the fifth Dark World dungeon now. Playing on emulator is tough, man. I nearly died like three times. I've got six Heart Pieces left to find... I can think of where three are hiding. Hmm. It's been a while. XD

I hate it when I tell people I will be somewhere at sometime and then they text me at not-quite-that-time-yet wondering where I am. )

Past life. )

But the day ends well because Kat posted more beisbol pictures! Lookit how badass we are!

I love how all the pictures say ORIOLES! somewhere in the background. Playing "What's in the Background?" seems to be a thing.

Also: hi, new friends! I'm so glad you're here! Read through some old posts, get a feel for how I roll. I'm dead in the middle of working on a REAL INTRO POST so hopefully that goes live soon. Actually, I'll go back to work on that now.

Edit: FFFFFF I CAN'T FIND THE INTRO POST! D:> FOUND IT! Just when I was about to give up, too. Sneaky little thing, hiding in a .txt file marked as "tags" for all the LJ tags I'm working on organizing! *renames* I'm in a better mood, now. :D

Oh shit, it's Mother's Day. Right. So happy Mother's Day to your mommies, grandmommies, aunts, sisters, and other important women who helped raise you, flist (even if today's not Mommy's Day in your country). ♥

I was productive today, and by "productive," I mean not. I genuinely slept today, so I should be fine now, and the urge came over me to re-read Vagabond, so I did. Goodness, I miss that story so hard. I've been reading in short bursts at a time, and so I'm in the middle of chapter thirteen right now. And, not going to lie, I'm pretty sure that this story was a big push and help in writing up that monstrous forty-page (in a wide-ruled notebook) character backstory I did so many years ago.

I miss having ideas for things to write, too. I hate that I'm halfway decent at writing but have no ideas for stories, yet I can't draw a stick figure and I have a thousand ideas for pictures. What's wrong with me? Even if I were to get prompts, there's no guarantee I'd be able to come up with the necessary ideas and ~*inspiration*~ for even a short four-paragraph vomit. How I long for 2004 and 2005, the years of Musebarf. Anything I wanted happened. Le sigh.

Anyway, I also worked on Finland!hat some more. I got it to fit -- not snug, just a little loose -- and am working on figuring out the ear flaps. I'm working in the dark green yarn; I just hope I have enough to finish the second, the edges, and the touches. I doubt it; I'll probably have to start over on a fresh skein. Dammit. At least I have a template.

That, sadly, is it. I thought I had something else to carry over from yesterday, but I'm not sure of that. Anyway, new ichiP! video, narrated by me, apparently. XD

So yesterday was my cakeday on reddit. !!! Oh, and I'm participating in ScavengerSpies. I just need to get a charm and some cards, but I've already logged into blipboard. Can someone make me a Shrinkydink alien (because I seem to be out of polystyrene)? |D

I can't find the motivation to clean. But there's nothing on TV, and I can only play Tetris for so long before I get sick of it. Not the original Tetris, obviously.

Today, sigh. Today would have been Noel's fifteenth birthday. For all the new friends from July, Noel was my dog. She was a terrier mix, and she was around for more than half of my life (it'll be August before it comes back down to exactly half. Oh hey, my 104th minor decimal birthday's tomorrow!). She died in June, and I miss her every day. Bradley is nowhere near as awesome. ;A;

That's it, really. Memes now, I suppose. )

LOL Last post was so frantic, so today I'm doing it way early so I can take my time.

Yeah, so I got an inhaler yesterday. Hurray! Olua tried to send me one in the mail over a week ago and it never got here, so when I was moaning about it, she said she would send one via Priority on Wednesday. It got here yesterday. O_O; The postage sticker said "Nov. 3" on it and I was like "WTF isn't that today?" because I'd lost track of time for a bit. So after prying USPS' tape off the box -- I mean, it's good that the tape is impossible and the glue on the packages is like cement (in that it'd take a jackhammer to get it out), but I'm a bit scared of blades (I have scar on my knuckle from where I cut myself with a knife) so can you make them easier to open, USPS? Thanks. -- and ripping the thing open, I got the inhaler. I got it three days after it would have helped, but beggars can't be choosers, really.

And even if it tastes like ass (I miss the little red ones that tasted sweet), that's okay because now I won't DIE. I can dance again! ♪To dance again! I've been waiting all these months years to dance again, and now at once a chance appears!♫

Speaking of dancing, ichiP!'s gonna do a thing next month at August Martin High School for someone's anime club. I'm, uh, pretty cheesed that it's at August Martin, since that's one of those so-close-but-impossible-to-get-to-on-public-transit places. It's about a ten-minute drive, but if I were to take the bus, it'd probably take a good forty-five minutes; I could walk from home and make it in comparable time. I would take a taxi, but goodness knows how much those things would charge, since they kinda like to make it up as they go and not give receipts. ANYWAY.

And in other news, it seems I'm one of the winners in the TOKYOPOP Hetalia Day contest? XD I didn't take the picture that won -- since I'm in it -- so I'm gonna try to offer some of the prize to the person who did. And something tells me that the winners chosen weren't so random (but that one from Oregon does look pretty cool), but... meh. Heh, I can totally use my TOKYOPOP tag on this entry.

All right, meme time. )

GODFUCKINGDAMMIT of course something goes wrong to ruin today. Douchebag McCheaterface sent me an e-mail yesterday or two days ago. Whatever, he just asked how the Rally was. I summarized and I mentioned that I lost my wallet. Fine. Today, I got a reply and he was like he suggested I report my license (which was in the wallet) as missing. He was all "Speaking as a security specialist," blah blah blah.

Now, I don't often use this word, and it's kind of offensive, so I apologize in advance but

NIGGA, PLEASE!
(LJ, seriously, why no blinky text?! ;A; I guess I'll just do a marquee. The way it bounces off the sides amuses me.)

One, there is no way in the world you can impress me, so you can put your fancy titles and language away right now. Two, way to sound like a pompous assface and make me not take anything you say seriously. 9_9 I mean, really, "security specialist"? What, did someone give you an extra key? You ain't in no CIA, nigga. *neck roll*

[/attempt at ethnicity. orz]

To leave this entry on a not-sour note, holy shit, someone was Tim Lincecum for Halloween! Guess I have to get my José Reyes shit together. Anyone wanna be my David? Oh! And Theresa linked me to the first episode of Clarissa Explains It All. Ooh-ooh, and the Rangers blanked the Devils! Today's not bad after all!

My last post kinda backfired, but it seems as though I've started a meme; I meant everyone to post pictures of themselves as comments in my journal, but some have posted in their own instead. o_o;; Not what I had in mind, but as long as it spreads and gets the message out there. But thank you to [livejournal.com profile] conjure_lass [livejournal.com profile] raspberrysorbet [livejournal.com profile] pineapplebites [livejournal.com profile] xdullxbluex who played along and posted in my entry. ♪

Yesterday, Laura, Erica, and I had a practice. We were at the Move with Grace studio on Myrtle Ave., almost directly behind Pratt. How about that: all that time, and we had no idea it was there. Thanks, [livejournal.com profile] catmandux, for letting me know about that website; that's how we found it. ♪ The space was perfect! Just big enough for the three of us to move comfortably, there was a fan, but most importantly, A MIRROR. T^T (And we had it all to ourselves, unlike Pratt's studio.)

After we were done, we headed to the Abandoned Classroom to get some filming done. We have a shot of Rottara, Rottara done, but it's framed really poorly. OH WELL. The important thing is that we've got it done, and we'll be kind of performing it at Reni's show tomorrow, when we do our thirty-second pitch. Hold on. Backtrack.

After our relatively failed attempt to film, Erica reminded us that she needed to work, so we went back to her place to discuss what we're going to do for Reni's show. We have a chance to participate in a future show -- for more than thirty seconds -- if our pitch tomorrow is successful. All we have to do, basically, is say who we are and what we do, so we've decided to do a super-short version of a dance (Rottara, Rottara), while speaking. We've also assembled a press kit (Laura, mostly), that has all our junk in it, and when we've done things for whom. It's all very exciting, even if the description of WHO WE ARE AND WHAT WE DO took forever to write (not to write so much as phrase; I still like to think myself a ~*verbal artist*~ and I was being very picky). We had to rehearse a lot, which was really disgusting, considering we're each speaking for about five seconds. TL;DR, come to Reni's show tomorrow at noon, at Amber Asian Cuisine, 432 6th Ave (bet. 9th and 10th) for a preview of one of the dances we'll be doing at NYAF. It's $12, though, which is pretty lame.

Now for something entirely different: I found this on my flist yesterday morning, and while it's obviously fake and the videos are hacks, it was still kinda creepy on half a night's sleep at 4:45 in the morning. XD; I had fun scaring myself, but I was so exhausted when I was done that I had dreamless sleep the rest of the night.

I haven't played Zelda in a very long time. I wanna ALttP so badly, you have no idea.

Today's Saturday, so that means I'll be cleaning.

And I would have posted yesterday if I hadn't spent my entire work day trying to get the internet to WORK, but I'm alive and I'm okay, I'm just ... tired. I still manage to jump on AIM, so you should bother me. XD Also, I have a phone. Calls are appreciated (I spent a good hour watching the game with Theresa over the phone. ... I turned it off after the sixth Devils goal; I'm still not sure the Rangers realize it's the middle of MARCH).

Next free time is Sunday, and I will be the hell ASLEEP (what paper due Tuesday?).

Oh! I get paid today! :D I hope my check is correct, so I can go buy Spirit Tracks (I found a GameStop nearish to work). I still don't have a DS, but that's a non-issue; I can always borrow one.

GUYS WTF DO I DO FOR SPRINGFEST? I don't wanna do Hetalia, I haven't done anything else in EIGHT MONTHS and that's fucking ridiculous. But it's not nice enough for anything else yet, and it'll be raining all day. I think the only one I've got is Dominic, and I don't even follow DD anymore. :/ HEEEEELP.

Fuck today so hard, man. I just wanna sleep.

I really, really do.

(Bonus points if you can outline and ID them all. Not that I'm challenging or asking you to post the answer. XD)

LOL it's Tuesday.

Success!

I promised to make cookies for the meet on Saturday (which is still going on, rain or shine. Rain, it looks like). I won't have time after class tomorrow, so I started tonight. Anyone familiar with my previous attempts at cookie-making will know that my dough came out to be more of a batter (despite following the recipe exactly), and I was forced to bake it longer, so I wound up with cookie bars instead of round cookies.

I blame my makeshift rolling pin (seriously, where did the rolling pin go?!).

Today, I got actual cookies, which is awesome, but I need them to be bars. Oh, irony. On the bright important side, they taste pretty good, and I'm pleased. I did a small batch of a half-dozen and passed them out to the family: they all approved. The rest of the dough has to chill in the fridge for about another hour and a half. I'll get back to work on my sign.

...Even with three cookie sheets, I'm pretty sure this means I'll be up until one or two making cookies. I'll leave the icing (also making it from scratch!) for tomorrow night, since that doesn't require prep-time. I'm probably going to take pictures of my babies. Don't judge me.

PLEASE COMMENT IF YOU DIDN'T KNOW I LIKE TO BAKE. :D It's the one kind of cooking I can do. Appropriately. :::has a sweet tooth like WHOA:::

Also, Phil-with-one-L showed me this. I love him. Ryan, I mean. XD

Nighttime adventures have improved, but only just. I don't remember what I've dreamt right after waking up (but I know that I did dream something), so I'm able to fall asleep faster, but yesterday, I don't know why, I just broke all to hell on the train. Let's see, I can't doze, so I think I'll just BURST INTO TEARS instead. THIS IS A LOGICAL DECISION. WTF, self. WTF.

Slept until about four in the afternoon on Saturday and it was glorious. Of course, that means I didn't get anything else done. Well, that's not a total lie. First thing I did, after I steadied myself enough to take a shower -- more than twelve hours of sleep and I'm just as groggy as I was before I started, lol -- was find all my clothes and do a run of the show with costume changes. Turns out, I can more or less handle my own stuff, and the hardest part, predictably, will be changing from casual to uniforms. Also, I really need to iron everything, so I hope I can get around to that Friday morning. XD But it was cool, not only because I can handle the changes, but because I wasn't terribly sweaty and gross (I think the changes help with that) and I wasn't exhausted (I think running myself into the ground in practice helped with that!). Not to mention, everyone else seems to have their shit together, so I'm in good spirits about the show.

And then I watched LOLgend, and happened to catch one of the "better" episodes. O.O Apparently one of my coworkers likes it, too? I tried to say good things about the show -- and I think I mentioned that I loved it, which I do, but I didn't say why -- and she was all excited over it and I tried SO HARD not to laugh. ♥

Yesterday, I didn't sleep as much, but met up with Fred, Dan, and Erica in the city (Laura's thingie ran long, I guess, so she couldn't make it). We grabbed a bite, and went back to Fred's place for a few games of Mahjong and some-other-game-the-title-of-which-I-can't-remember-but-it-was-strategy-based-so-of-course-I-sucked-at-it. It was really cute, though, and aside of being TOTALLY cut off from rocks, I liked it. And then we watched Harold and Kumar Escape from Guantanamo Bay, which was... exactly what I expected it to be. ... And then we split up.

I also started a game of Wind Waker yesterday (Zeldathon inspired me to replay my old Zelda titles, but at my leisure), and I didn't have much of a chance to play, so I've only just gotten to the first dungeon. Erica borrowed ALttP from Fred -- I wanted to borrow FF6 and Chrono Trigger, but I only had my pockets to carry them in so I deemed it unsafe -- and I told her that if she had any questions, I don't care what time of day or night it is, CALL ME. XD

And now for the inevitable boring week of work before the convention. MY GODDESSES I need more sleep. X_X
