A Sword Has No Strength

I got home yesterday afternoon, greeted my mother, and took a nap. I was knocked the hell out for four hours. It was wonderful. I managed to catch another five before the night was through; I took my (now-usual) double dose of Claritin in the interim.

When I woke up this morning, I took another double-dose. That was four doses in nine hours. Needless to say, I feel heaps better, if a little sniffly (still! I hope it's nothing more serious). Best of all, I can talk now! Voice is still hoarse and throat is still scratchy (note to self: buy hard candies) but at least I'm audible today? :::waves yay flag:::

I've got class tonight. I'm kind of excited, kind of not. I'm wearing my BATTLE SUN sneakers for luck. :3

Man, I kinda wish it were last Friday right now.... And I'd have my iPod, too. D: Still no word on it. Poor Michael. Mommy misses you. ;-;

Today was made of brain-death. ( I was assigned more menial chores. )

I'm kind of glad the interview I was supposed to have today was rescheduled for next week (OH GOD I HOPE I CAN MAKE IT STUPID SCHEDULE NOT BEING DONE UNTIL TOMORROW D:), because it's raining and gross, and now I'm home and I don't have to leave until tomorrow morning. *joy* Not that I'm going to get much any work done in here, but it's nice to be home.

Gag 100 now. :D

Which is Minnesota, apparently. It's his first time ever off the East Coast. Awww. I don't miss him -- he left this morning and he'll be back on Tuesday -- but after the crazy day I had today, I wish he'd taken me with him.

I devoured a sandwich on the train (and work!Laura was nice enough to give me one of her pastries, a small strawberry cheesecake!), and after explaining today's mess to Theresa, and writing it up again (what's taters copypasting?), I'm done. I'm kinda glad I close tomorrow because I get sleep.... Whatever. In seventy-two hours, it'll be over for the week. I want to disappear. Furthermore, today's got nothing on the holidays. Both work!Laura and I were complaining that they don't pay us enough to do this shit. :/

So, that's it. Today failed because my body was like "FUCK THIS I WANT SLEEP" ... whoa, it's raining hard again. It's not seven in the evening and it's black as pitch out, so I've got my lamp on. Depressing. Um. Yeah. I'll try to get stuff done over the weekend, and print my résumés first thing, since the library opens at ten tomorrow.

I had a good day yesterday. I want to do my best to do my best. :D

Someone explain it to me, please. I'm only an hour in, and I already have this horrible feeling that my SeeDs will fail to germinate. D: (Zell, I think I love you.)

So, everyone west of me, have fun watching it. XD I won't be able to, because it starts so late, it'll be early! There're still another FOUR HOURS to go! But the good news is, there's another total lunar eclipse in February that I get to see. Hurray! It starts nice and early, too, reaching totality about 10:30 on February 20th. I'm gonna keep my fingers crossed for a clear night. Cold, to be certain, but clear. (oooh, a snuggle date!)

Anyway, so my other two classes. American history doesn't seem like it'll be too terrible, but it's history nonetheless. Names and dates that I have to memorize and can't apply to anything else. Wonderful. Sociology's even worse; I took it for granted that my professor in the morning was American, that my professor in the afternoon was also American. My sociology professor is Indian, and quite heavily accented (and seems to be a little bit of an asshole, too). I'm strongly considering switching sections.

Wednesday, I'll have my other history class (Medieval and Early Modern Western -- memw?) before campus life, and American history after.

I found Ian, or rather, he found me. I was sitting on the steps during my long break, not knowing what to do with myself. He spotted me rockin' the odango, and figured it HAD to be me. So, I've got four of the ten students that I need to start an anime/Japanese culture club.... But I still see no students with nerdy shirts. I will perservere, however.

Chocobo Tales kept me company. ♥

I don't have class or work on Friday or Monday, and I think Friday will be dance practice. :3 Ike ike!! *point*

I'm getting disjointed. Fufufu... Hope everyone's first day back was better than mine; I've got a not-first-day at work tomorrow, but I open, so here's to getting my ass in bed. ^_^

(I missed two more typos in the last post, bringing the count to an even sixty. Geez! It's nice using a responsive keyboard; I hope nothing ever happens to it (aside of the broken caps lock key, but that's okay because I never used it)!)

The past twenty-four hours were nightmarish. I woke up several times last night just to cough, and more time than it was worth trying to catch my breath. My inhaler wasn't working, so I couldn't use it, as desperate as I was. But I was tired and kept sleeping, and I was so tired that I was able to sleep through jackhammering.

I had my mom call out for me around 11:30. I could barely speak -- it felt like there was a pole through my chest -- let alone walk or alphabetize video games. Mom also went to the store and got me cough medicine, which I love her for right now, because my cough has gone away quite a bit after only three doses. It's the "nighttime" kind, though, so I get kinda drowsy about an hour after I've taken it. I was napping a lot today.

Phill came by around 3:30 with soup, sushi and cookies. I wasn't up for the sushi or cookies at first, but I attacked the soup. I hadn't had anything to eat in about twenty-four hours, so I was a bit hungry, and I wasn't sure I'd be able to keep anything down, so omiso was definitely the way to go. I was brave enough for a couple of pieces of a Philly roll later on. I also took some Tylenol to kill my fever, and that worked well, curing me of the chills and sweats I had.

Phill also fixed my inhaler. *_* That worked wonders for the cough.

I'm better, but still not a hundred percent. I can't make up the hours I've lost this week (CRY), and I plan on staying in bed tomorrow morning, but if I feel well enough in the evening, I WILL be at Lynda's for dinner. I should be more than able to return to work on Thursday, and I WILL take it easy this weekend. With luck, by next week, this will all be a memory.

loobywibble brought this to my attention. I think I just died on the inside. I shouldn't be so quick to judge, though; I actually own a copy of The Picture Bible, and I was able to get through most of it. This can't be much different, and I'd imagine the art would be better. The story's still a bit iffy, IMO.... But still, "Bible" and "Extreme" should not be in the same sentence without a negating adverb of some sort, as in "the Bible is not extreme." XD

It's past three in the morning, I haven't written for hours (though I'm around 5300 now, which is ridiculous. This must be what real writers feel like!), so I'm going to bed. XD
