Following Poe and Pineapple
And writing down my goals for August:
•Exercise five days a week.
•Portion control.
The first isn't much of a goal (and I cheated and started yesterday, which is honestly a day late), but it's mine and it's a start to self-improvement (I guess). I'm not doing terribly much -- and to be honest, I feel quite winded and a bit shaky immediately afterwards because I'm so out of shape -- but it's something. It's the best use of a half-hour I've got, and by using dansu practice as part of it, I'm killing two birds with one stone.
The second is a lot tougher. I'm little, but I can eat, and I find eating very enjoyable. I've tried a number of different methods to control how much I eat, though, like not waiting until I'm hungry; using a smaller plate; drinking lots of water; smaller-but-more-frequent meals and more healthy snacks; eating until I'm satisfied but not full; but none of them seem to work for so many reasons (I'd list them, but....). There's also what I eat, and that's damn near impossible to control (RICE AND POTATOES AND CULTURE). In contrast, I only eat twice a day -- sometimes just once if I'm faced with disgusting leftovers for the third day in a row -- so it could be worse. I would make my own food, but I've already gone off on how I feel very uncomfortable in the kitchen between three (when Mom gets home) and eleven (when Mom goes to sleep).
But the exercise is good. I forgot how awesome showers feel when you're disgusting and tired and sweaty. BEST THING. I don't know where this motivation came from. However, I will not question it lest it slip away.
