I'm starting to feel a little guilty about not updating, but there really isn't anything going on.

Otakon was shit. I spent three hours at the con on Friday, in the Dealer's Room and Alley, just buying things. Came back with a couple of posters, keychains, buttons, and a pair of Triforce earrings. Ones that aren't made of clay and won't fall apart on me. Chatted with Laura, Nicole, and Deanna-from-Bananarama.

Watching the Opening Ceremonies of the Olympics was more fun than being at the con, and I'm horrific at identifying countries by their flags (to be fair, a lot of them were wrapped around the flagpoles and I couldn't see, and my brain wasn't working fast enough to remember who came after, say, Eritrea, in alphabetical order). I didn't know you could compete in the Olympics independently, though. That's pretty darn cool! ♥

Our Olympic coverage -- and by "our" I mean "America's" -- is really shitty. I suppose by now everyone's heard of how they cut the tribute to the victims of the 7/7 attacks because it didn't involve America. Like... way to be douches, NBC. That's really not the point. Sure, I'm gonna cheer my country on, and I'll watch the events we're participating in, but I wanna see other shit, too. Disgusting. So, yeah, I'm serious: they're really only showing stuff the American athletes are involved in. Thank goodness for the internet, where I can actually watch things. Not that I have been, but I could. It'll take me a while before I remember on my own "oh yeah, the Olympics are on."

That said, I had no idea I could so quickly become emotionally invested in water polo. Anyway.

Saturday was a bust. Esmeralda was freaking out because we didn't get the toll discounts we were supposed to get. She was completely irrational, like the world was going to end, with what amounted to two dollars per person in the car (if even that much). So that made me leave late, and I missed Laura's panel. I hung out in Otachan because there was nothing to do and even Otachan was boring. I entered the drawing contest only to claim a little plushie tapir as a prize, when some kid snatched it up before I could get there. STUPID KID YOU DON'T EVEN KNOW WHAT THAT IS. And then they scolded me for taking my own drawing off the wall, like. LSDKFJLSDKJF motherfucking seriously?!

I went back to the condo and took a nap, changed into Liechtenstein (because it was Saturday, so I should wear my NICEST cosplay), and Es and I went back to the mall in search of dinner. They're renovating the pavilions near the BCC so there weren't many options and it was SUPER LOUD everywhere, so we were sweaty and hungry and annoyed and therefore quite grouchy. After dinner -- we met Alexis, so at least we had a third -- she went back home and I went to the Alley one last time. Nothing particularly special.

Sunday, fuck it. We just stayed in the condo all day. Amanda didn't come through with her France cosplay, which was the entire reason we brought our Pokertalia shit, so there was no point. We slept in and took our time cleaning the condo.

There was drama over the weekend, of course, mostly involving the reasons why we were two hours late getting on the road (leaving Baltimore at five instead of three), but that's not worth my time.

So yeah, shitty con. I don't wanna go back because there's not been anything for me to do. I don't know if it's because I'm not interested or because I'm not making myself get involved, but the con scene isn't really doing it for me anymore. And the fact that I was alone almost the entire time, which is never fun. Guh. But then, what do I do for fun? This is the last hobby I have....

Yeah, I think I'm just gonna go to bed.
