Progress post #4 (avec les photos!)

Still no access to a full-length mirror or photographer, so here are pictures of the dress-in-progress hanging from a light fixture in the hallway! ^_^

(because the back does not look *exactly* like the front!)

THIS SHIT DOES NOT FIT ME. D:<

THE SHIRT
•Currently, the right sleeve is only basted together and basted in. The left sleeve is stitched but pinned in, which is why it looks strange.
•The neckline is WAY tight (and uneven), but I have yet to put the collar on, so don't worry about that.
•I had a stroke of genius last night about the design: I could model it after my cheer shirt, the white undershirt I use for Link. I screwed up somewhere, though, because this shit is SMALL. I cut an extra inch and a half length, and it rides short, WITHOUT the elastic that my cheer shirt has. Also, the sleeve hole is too big for the sleeve by about a half-inch. :/ And like my cheer shirt, it flattens my boobs to almost nothingness.
•The white fuzzies everywhere are the LEAST of my problems.

THE DRESS
•Would be fine if it weren't for some stupid weird BUMP in the back that I'm pretty sure is caused by the zipper and my butt. I hate butts. They're ugly (seriously, guys, WHY ON EARTH do people find derrières attractive?). And they cause costume-bumps. D: I'm kinda glad there aren't any pictures of me in this thing. :/

AND THE REST
So my left glove with the strawberry is in there, and while I don't plan on wearing that sock on my arm, I do plan on wearing it on my leg. I found it with the three stripes like that and it was too good to leave behind. The gloves and socks are the only bits that have gone flawlessly. :////

I think what's angering me the most is that it looks fine when I baste it and pin it, but when I take seventeen thousand hours to stitch it, it looks like crap and/or doesn't fit right. The convention is in TWO WEEKS what do I do? T_T I FUCKING HATE FITTED CLOTHES SO FUCKING MUCH.

FUCK THIS I'm going to go be a Zora now and eat the rest of the chocolate Star bought me last night SINCE MY BOYFRIEND IS A TOOL AND NOT ANSWERING HIS PHONE.

As I was going through Snowhead (AGAIN) the other night, I was treated to an interesting view of the Elder:

WHAT IS THIS SHIT. WHY IS IT RED. Link, you poor child. No wonder you're so fucked up. XD

...I think I might be PMSing. XD

WTF that is the craziest Zelda pic I've ever seen. And why does it look like he has two heads?!

LOL full frontal!

I don't know if this might be part of the problem with your dress shirt not fitting correctly, but it looks to me like the sleeves are attached too high up on the shoulder, maybe? Like there should be more space between the neckline and where the sleeves begin? It's hard to tell from the pictures, though. Ultra kudos for sewing that all by hand, though, and good luck with finishing it!

Poor Bin-chan! >.< Thanks for txting me earlier btw.
I haven't seen this costume on you but I'm sure it's fine, and you're just a perfectionist like my mom (and me sometimes). But that's what we love about your costumes <3 Can't wait to seeee XO

As YOU can see if you got the email, Michele got pretty far on hers - she's like 60 or 70% done. She still has to make the top white thing (which we're changing because she decided she's gonna be hella hot with a high collar), hem the bottom and sleeves, and add the zipper and trim. She's got all the basics sewn though. Whoo! And I cut out my fabric today, FINALLY. I ironed it and when I held it all, it is soooo heavy >.< It'll be evenly distributed though.

I know I say this all the time I still hella pumped for these costumes. No joke. *//.//*

LOL it really isn't fine; I have no boobs in the shirt as is, and so the dress slips down! That bump in the back is really cheesing me... but I'll see what I can do with it; at least I'll be able to salvage sleeves from the current shirt, and shirts don't take that long to make, anyway, thank goodness! We'll see how far I can get over the weekend -- I get out of work at two tomorrow -- but I've got a date on Sunday, so don't expect much.

Also, what are we doing for shoes?

AND YAY MICHIRU it looks FANtastic!

Well I want to see it on you! Go coerce someone into taking your photo! That's what I do XD Good luck fixing it in any case.

As for shoes -
PREPARE FOR LONGWEBLINK

I think we should go with actual dance shoes, since we know they'll stay on and they're pretty high quality. I dunno if they'll slip around on the floor though (we like traction yes?) but they're pretty cheap and white and they have straps on them, so...ya know.

Will post more progress pics when we have more!

They don't look so bad, and they're cheaper than what I found at Payless. Let's go for it!
