Today was better than yesterday. Myabe cuz it's just Thursday, or maybe because it was an actual day, or maybe because I felt productive, or maybe because I got out of work early, or just a combination of all of those.

Got on the train and since one had just gone out of the station, packed as could be, I was more than able to get a seat. I took out some manga and didn't finish a chapter before I leaned my head against the window and fell RIGHT asleep. I was knocked out until somewhere in Manhattan, and opened my eyes again in time to see my stop. Got breakfast... I'm seriously starting to compromise. This Cafe Metro place on 52nd isn't all that great. I mean, there's barely any lox in the lox spread, and the coffee's bitter as all hell, but the bagel and coffee are only two bucks. And when I come out of that place, I walk down on 5th Ave., which is weird because how many parades have I done going UP Fifth? It's just unnatural; it feels backwards. I'm supposed to be able to see the Park beyond St. Patrick's, you know? On the other hand, I could go to delis on 53rd St., which are technically closer (and shorter walks), with better-tasting food, but they NEVAR have my lox spread and they're obviously more expensive. Good coffee, though. Not like it matters; I just drink the coffee because otherwise I'll have a day like Tuesday. Although, it's better when flavored coffee actually tastes what it's supposed to be flavored like, and not super-bland, super-bitter, did-I-REALLY-put-ten-sugars-in-here-and-it's-still-gross?! kinda junk. Ah, well.

Wendy was writing when I got there, and I guess it put me in a mood; during the first break, I got out the pen and started to scribble a little bit, too. ^_^ I felt accomplished for that. But, the best part (at least, hearing it was good) was that there was supposed to be some private party in the Grand Lounge, so we had to dismantle everything after the second show went in. It was pretty crappy, and a lot of work for poor Wendy, who knew where everything was, so she had to unplug things herself. And we have to do it again tomorrow. She was kinda hoping that Doug would see how much work it is and not want to come in tomorrow. I don't wanna come in tomorrow; I could use a three-day weekend. ^_^;; But then, I'm lying. I was looking forward to the nicest paycheck EVAR in two weeks from all the hours I pulled? Guess not. BUT! I did work like 32 last week. And I get paid tomorrow (only 23 hours, BLAHHH), so that's not so bad.

After work, I met up with Guillermo. We went to Kinokuniya bookstore in Rockefeller Ctr. (don't ask me where, because I was just like "Argh there's the tree, :::insert complaint here:::") It made me happy, though, because there was a sign in English and Japanese that said "Please use the other door" or something, and the "kudasai" on the sign was actually written with the kanji. [rant]That was the FIRST time I'd seen it written like that outside of Japanese class. I'd learned the kanji for it, and then NEVER seen it used. Not on the baby changing station in the bathroom in the Grand Lounge, not on the CD players that tell you not to touch the lens, not ANYWHERE. I was even ranting about it at work. But now, instead of asking whatever professor I have why it's never like that, I have to ask why it's halfway like that. It's not like it's difficult to write or hard to read; it's just... I thought the Japanese would use kanji wherever they could, like I was told.[/rant] Oh well.

After that, we went to Book Off on 41st St. which has DOLLAR MANGA. Don't get too excited, faithful readers, it was in Japanese. Of course. ^_^;; The English stuff was upstairs and there wasn't much selection. ;-; But it was still pretty cool to be greeted, "Irasshaimase!!" as I entered the store. That made my day. I smiled and bowed, of course, but I didn't know what to say. What DO you say when someone welcomes you? "Konnichi wa"? "Arigatou"? I will also ask Sensei next semester.

After that, we went down the street to some place whose name I didn't even catch. Foodingness. We both had beef don over rice. There was red stuffies on top. Don't know what it was, but Guillermo didn't like it, and I found that straight, it's pretty gross (but has a hint of lemony taste at the end). With the beef and a little bit of rice, it's not so bad. Naturally, I made a pig of myself and ate the whole thing. To drink, Guillermo had some grapefruit stuff (I hate grapefruit) and I had Calpis (though I was really tempted to try and pull Pocari Sweat off the shelf... lol). Lemme tell you, Calpis is pretty good; Sunny was right. Of course she's right; she's half Japanese, she knows what she's talking about, even if it's only in English... lol. Halfway through the bottle, I realized that Calpis tastes like when you leave Fruity Pebbles in the milk and it takes on that Fruity Pebble flavor... but it's a lot thinner than milk. Sugary milk-water, I called it (or Fruity Pebble Milk), because that's all there was in it.

It was funny because I was so excited that I got off of work early to go home and watch TV and sleep and I didn't. Well, I didn't watch TV, but I sure as hell got to sleep. Two and a half hour nap. And I coulda done more. But I feel refreshed, so that's good, especially considering that I have to get up an hour earlier than usual tomorrow. But this weekend will be slept through, save TV programs, laundry (I haven't forgotten!) and maybe some Pikminning. Here's to payday. :::raises bottle of Calpis::: Cheers.

PS. Isn't it amusing... Zelda reference in the title, FF music in the background. I'm soooo cool. :::pushes up her glasses and takes puffs on inhaler:::
