Stony Brook! Advising, RSP, Club Fair.
Sep. 14th, 2005 10:49 pmI woke up yesterday really early :::rolls eyes::: to get on the train relatively on time. I was able to catch a bus this time, not a cab. Walked to the train station and had plenty of time to buy my ticket. Yay. The ride over was uneventful.
I got some information. I'm not sure if it helped or not:
Alex (9:22:10 PM): what did they tell ya at stony?
Me (9:23:00 PM): they looked over what i wrote and asked me what my plan was and shit
Me (9:23:23 PM): and we outlined a very general schedule for me.... to include in my petition letter. i think it was that i didn't have enough of a goal written in there.
Me (9:24:21 PM): and also, the office hours for the guy who reads the petitions was on the paper (i didn't realize that) but i didn't have a chance to stop by today because i was helping move stuff.... besides, i was told to hold onto the application until there's a spring schedule out, so perhaps i'll visit the next time i go to stony brook and see exactly what this guy wants.
That was more or less it. I went to Anime Club and crashed there until about 6:45, when Ray decided to close up shop. I was going to head over to Katie's, because she got out of class at twenty to, but decided to check out if anyone I knew was down in the Forum.
That's right, I'm a 4Mite. I've been there more than once. On my own. I've been looking for people each time, but I think I could spend a few hours down there.... Anyway.
I found Bonnie and Barbara not-No. Barabara wanted to sleep, poor thing. Bonnie, at least, was happy to see me. She told me that there was a club meeting and that Warky and Onion would be around shortly. Yay! I hid under my jacket when I saw Warky in the hallway and surprised him when I peeked.
The meeting was... y'know, your run-of-the-mill club meeting. Nothing special. Onion didn't show.
After the meeting, we went back to the forum and hung out more. Warky showed me bits and pieces of his project, and before we knew it, it was nearly ten. TIME TO GO HOME. LOL. Solange very generously drove me over to Roth. Katie wasn't there because she'd already gone over to O'Neill to get her book for the night, but showed up a few minutes after I did.
We sat down in her room and relaxed a bit (because Katie was practically running across campus) before settling down to do RSP for the night.
RSP was interesting. Katie called me in as a guest, and Seto was laughing. We were privatley laughing at each other every time we called in our locations. In between that, Katie checked people in, and we grew tired and delirious. During one of our more delirious moments, Katie put shredded plastic wrap on her head (she'd been coating her fingers with it) and declared herself the Ice Princess (something like my Moogle Princess last year). I also tried on the tiara (I have pictures), though I was not as tired.
And we were talking to Phill on the phone while we were like that. He thought we were drunk or on something. But that's when Katie got the brilliant idea to invite Phill back out to Stony this weekend.... so we're going! I would have just stayed out there, but I had no clothes. XD
Fred also borrowed Katie's laptop to start watching Advent Children. :::DROOL::: I promised Katie I'd stay with her, so I didn't get to see it. Perhaps Friday?
RSP mercifully ended at 3:00. I changed into my jammies and was gone before I got a chance to properly settle on the couch.
I woke up this morning at 10.5, half an hour later than I wanted. I got dressed and ran out -- omg it was hot -- to club. By the time I got there, there wasn't much to be done. I hung out a while and then headed over.
The fair was great. Justin recognized me right off the bat, as did a bunch of other people. I met Vincent from this year's I-Con (whose name is Phil), along with Tiffany (last year's Kikyou) and some of her friends. Campus life seemed to fly by, especially when I spent the last half-hour of it in Jasmine with Seto eating lunch. I went back to the Forum to hang out there for a while, and left when Onion had to go to class.
(In the meantime, we discussed my costume which led to Advent Children, which led to the other FF games. We decided that Cid has nothing but extra cigarettes in his Hammerspace, and joked about what would have happened at the end of X-2 if Lulu's baby were blue and furry instead of, well, Wakka's (because it's weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeird that they had a kid. "Kimahri think he in trouble....." But now that I think about it, I'm not sure which is worse. XD)
I went back to Katie's because it was after 3.40 (she had class at 2.20) and prayed that she was there because my phone had died earlier that morning (apparently the outlet I plugged it into last night wasn't any good). She was, thank goodness. I met Shalu's younger sister, whose name I forgot because I'm so terrible with them, and then crashed on her couch.
We left to get smoothies around 5.45 and then it was off to the train station. I HATE the 6.50 train because it's NEVER on time. Not to mention there's that pointless fifteen-minute layover in Smithtown. Why don't they just run the train from Stony Brook fifteen minutes later? SERIOUSLY. But I never make my connection at Jamaica, even though I should have two minutes, which is plenty of time to do so. Sigh.
So I'm back home. Tomorrow I have to go job hunting and clean my room and stuff. Phill's staying the night and then it's back to Stony Brook for Friday-into-Saturday. @_@
