Job hunting.
Sep. 22nd, 2005 01:51 amOh Ethan, you crazy fellow.... :::takes off own pith helmet::: So I went job hunting at Queens Center today. First, I had to do something about the bird's nest on my head.... took forever and about a gallon of conditioner (an hour and a lot) to deal with that mess. Anyway. Got dressed in work casual (but sneakers!) and e-mailed myself my resume. The library would only let me print out ten copies, so I was limited as to where I could go, but it turns out I didn't need so many.
I spent two and a half hours, I guess, walking around the mall, looking for places where I thought I could be hired. I generally stayed away from food and clothing stores because usually they want experience, :::rolls eyes::: but really, all I wanna do is register, so..... I wound up applying to eight places: Bath and Body Works, Sam Goody, Victoria's Secret, Starbucks (I know, Gen. I know. It's a cult), Sanrio, The Sweet Factory, Modell's and of course, GameStop. The Disney Store and EB sent me home with applications because they weren't hiring at the moment, and only a couple of places, like the American Greetings store, said they weren't hiring at all.
Tomorrow I want to go to Roosevelt Field and apply to places there, but with the way I'm sniffling right now, it doesn't seem like a good idea. Friday afternoon, I have to go back to Vicki's; they're doing a mass interview. Sunday, best of all, I'm going to the Nintendo Store. I know I'm not going to get hired there, but I'd like to at least meet a friend. ^_^; I'm gonna need to get there early, though, and lots of luck, too. That's about it.
