Oh, Brother.
Apr. 28th, 2006 09:08 pmAnyone ELSE wanna make fun of the Wii while I'm reading my friends page? Anyone? Anyone? Bueller? It's a funny name, loads of jokes have come from the Wii (case in point!), and... yeah. Or should I say "yes"? "Oui"? "Wii"?
That was pushing it but I don't care.
If you, somehow, don't know, Nintendo has decided to rename the long-awaited console the "Revolution" as the "Wii". Why? Because they're Nintendo and they're crazy motherfuckers! It doesn't seem to be taking very well. I think I'll just keep calling it the Revolution out of habit. That sounds like a good plan. :::nod:::
So. What's been going on since I got sick? Hmmm, nothing extraordinary. There've been lots of Wii jokes, but that aside, I'm struggling with my article for Harkinian. I should have had it in by now, but I still can't seem to get my thoughts around anything, and I've got no guidelines. For the majority of the month, I tried religion and mythology, one of my favorite subjects in the Zeldaverse, but I had no direction. A summary of what I wrote was, "Yeah, there's religion. We know more about it than we think. ... Isn't that great?" Augh, it was awful. Right now, I'm trying adventuring, but... I don't think that's gonna work out very well, either. Oh, I've written quite a bit on the subject, but it's all just intro and segue into the main article, which doesn't want to be written. Sigh.
Work woes! We're hiring. One of the candidates is a girl named Lizette. She speaks Spanish, which is great. She doesn't speak English, though, which sucks.
"Ariana, how the HELL are we supposed to talk to this girl?!"
"Learn Spanish! XD"
Okay, so what happens when Ariana and Fernando aren't in the store to translate for us? And it'll be moments before they get sick of doing so. How are we supposed to ask favors of her? Her of us? How's Evie supposed to tell her what to do? Evie understands Spanish, yeah, but she doesn't speak it. In fact, in the seven months I've been working, I've heard Evie speak Spanish once. She said "sí." On Saturday. WTF.
I don't think it's wrong of me, should we hire her, to not talk to her completely. I don't care about our official stance, but this is America and English is the language of business. End. Of. Discussion.
Karen Huang seems to be happy sticking her nose in our business, where it doesn't belong. If I were Evie, I really wouldn't be taking her crap. I'd be talking to Flores a lot more. Flores, by the way, just got back from Cancun and she's brown. Brown with red underneath because she's peeling like a potato. It's funny, but I feel bad for her, especially because she's proven to be the nicer Karen in recent months.
May's goals are very low. There are several days when it's a grand or less, including two that are $250. We're gonna rock May, or at least make up some ground... we hope.
Moving along...
My anniversary was yesterday. My sixth anniversary. o_o That's... a long time. I think I'm more or less stuck in this relationship. Hmm. Phill picked me up from work on Monday and I was in his company until Wednesday morning when he dropped me off at work. Wow. He got me pink flowers. :3 We played some games and watched Harry Potter #3 when it came on TV. Mostly, we were being all cutesy-coupley, and I'm not going to bore you all with that, so. Use your imaginations. 0:)
I bought Memoirs of a Geisha and The DaVinci Code while I wandered around Target today, looking for Sharpies. I spent $40. @_@ But yay, I've got new books to read.... once I'm done with my article for Harkinian.
Full circle means I'm done talking, so it's time to get back to the Mets game. Last I checked, they were kickin' some Brave butt in the sixth, so. Later! ^_^
