So now that the problem obviously lies in the router, I tried going to tech support for a solution. I was instructed to go to a certain site, and the connection had apparently timed out, the tech support people told me no! that's impossible! it's supposed to work! Yeah, well, it didn't, okay? I even knew what they were going to tell me, and I'd tried it beforehand and it didn't work then, either.

So back to tech support, and I'm sort of thinking that they already don't believe me that I did follow their original instructions, and they told me to ping the router. Okay, I honestly don't know how to do that, so I asked for instructions. I got them, no problem, well, until I tried to follow them, anyway. "Click on 'Use following IP address,'" the instructions tell me, but there IS nothing that says that. So I contacted them again, told them THAT, and they say now that there's something wrong with my router.

WELL NO SHIT THAT'S WHAT WE'RE TRYING TO FIX.

So now I don't know what to do and I certainly can't steal this computer and keep it to myself (nor do I want to). Short of getting a new router, I'm ready to start banging my head (or the router itself) against a wall to alleviate some of the pressure I'm feeling. Does ANYone know ANYthing about what might be wrong and are you able to help? Pleeeeeeeeease. D:
