LAWL I got sent home.
May. 30th, 2007 08:50 pmWell, it's not like there was anything to do.
I learned opening procedures this morning, sold two watches, and more or less just hung out until 1:00. Phil sent me home; there's a meeting tomorrow morning, so I get to make the hours. It'd be nice if I could have had the two extra hours, but beggars can't be choosers. At least I got to enjoy the painfully lovely day. The weather's cooled since last week, and it's finally May-like... as there are slightly more than twenty-four hours left. GOOD JOB.
But work was boring. I spent my three hours reading Swatch literature, and figuring out when @000 is (it's 7 PM during Daylight hours, and 6 PM regularly), and when the decimal hours happen to fall. But .beats are stupid, and that's why everyone wears a regular twelve- or twenty-four-hour watch. :D I was just happy for the bit of math and something to do.
Anyway, so I got home early and got a chance to finish Yuki's collar, which I did. I started to add it to the shirt for the home stretch of the stupid thing, and had to stop. Apparently, there's a lot of sewing this bit into that part for the tail end, and until I get that stupid light-teal fabric (sniff, sniff, I think there's a trip into Manhattan in my near future), I've got to put the project on hold. AUGH! A square foot stands between me and completion! I took a picture of what I've got so far, and I'll stick that up when I get a chance. It's not vastly different from last week's photo, but the collar makes a difference, and the whole thing looks a LOT cooler! ^_^ Link's been on a back burner and ... what's my third project, again? XD
I also got a call from someone at QCC today, briefly reviewing my transcript. Some of my credits will NOT transfer over, which makes me a very unhappy camper (Japanese, noooo!). I have some phone numbers to speak to a couple of advisors, and I'll probably get around to that tomorrow, with the boatload of other crap I'm going to have to do. I'm still wondering what I can do about registration....
I'm also feeling heaps better. The cough medicine is working its magic. I'm not vainly sucking the inhaler like I was two days ago. Hurray! Perhaps that's all I need to get through the change of seasons, some cough medicine. Haha. Much cheaper than other medicines.
