Day off.

I went to bed early last night, around one or so. I woke up at eleven, and it was SO GOOD to get more than a full night's sleep. I putzed around on the computer, then went BACK to sleep, and woke up around two-thirty in the afternoon.

I'm over my post-con exhaustion, but I was feeling a little woozy, and my balance is very off today for some reason; I nearly fell three times in the shower, unrelated to slippery surfaces. Anyway, I met up with Phill, and we were planning to go out, but he helped me clean the kitchen first. My mom had told me to do it last night, and I reluctantly agreed, so I thought to keep true to my word and do it, despite feeling like I was going to fall over at any second.

I asked him how his weekend was, and he said it was boring. I laughed at the irony.

When that bothersome chore was finally finished, Phill and I went out to the movies. We decided to see Transformers, which was FANTASTIC, but the movie was at seven and it was only four by the time we bought the tickets. And so, we wandered.

It was really hot out, so our first stop was Starbucks. The raspberry mocha frapp is only okay; I'll stick with plain mocha in the future. After that, we wandered into Radio Shack. In the back, there was an entire cabinet full of resistors and diodes and capacitors, and all the other junk I used to play with in my high school electronics class. I looked like a kid on Christmas, peeking into the drawers and marvelling over all the goodies that were inside. I was tempted -- even though I don't have a breadboard -- to get the pack of five hundred assorted resistors for twelve bucks.

Phill pointed out one of the big kits that were available for sale; one had three potentiometers and a seven-segment LED built in, and I oohed and aahed over it. Then he suggested that I take up electronics in school. Y'know... why not? Maybe it was just Mr. Uziel, but I LOVED that class, and I had a lot of fun with it. My lab partner all but refused to build the circuits we had to do, but that was okay, because I more than enjoyed it (it was her task to supply me with what I needed, and stick plain wires wherever they needed to go). And since just looking at the stuff -- not EVEN playing with it! -- made me happy, this might go somewhere.

I think it was .... like math, almost. :o And even though electronics and school were mentioned in the same sentence, I didn't get that feeling of dread or doubt in the back of my mind. I was like, "Yeah... this could happen." Maybe it will.

Qdoba was ddinner. Mmm, burritos. We had a bit of time to kill before the movie, and Phill had bought some wires and stuff at Radio Shack, so we putzed around with his potato cannon. I don't know if I've mentioned this before, but last month, he finally got around to building it. The wires connecting the cannon itself to the ignition switch were a bit short, so he went and got new ones, and we were working on it in the parking lot of the theatre. XD We got it to fire air in the car, too, which was rather loud. It made me scream, but yeah, it was pretty cool.

I kinda wanna launch a potato. After the cannon, I bought some cosplay socks and then it was off to the movies.

And now I'm home. Transformers was excellent, and you should go see it (it's kinda long, though, so pee before you go in. XD)!

Also, it looks as though my Yuki wig is on its way, so if I go to Otakon -- it's still an "if" at this point; keep those fingers crossed! -- I don't think I'll need to borrow. I don't think Link's alternate will be there, since I doubt I'll finish in time, so all hail the mighty Kokiri tunic! XD
