I don't expect you to understand the Metsrabble. :D Actually, the entry might be more effective if you don't.
Of course I turned my back to Jose Reyes in the first inning. He went on to score. The Mets had a one-run lead until the fourth when former Yankee Nick Johnson homered after a hit. The score remained in the Nats' favor until the eighth when Delgado tied it with his only hit on the night. Nothin' doin' until the fourteenth. Oh, sure, there were baserunners for both teams, and they both ended the game with just one pitcher left in the pen, but the game just seemed to go on without end.
Free baseball is usually a good thing.
In the fourteenth, Easley led off and I'm pretty sure he got a cute little single to left. A wild pitch later, and he's in at second. All right, RISP with fewer than two-- oh, wait, we've seen this situation about a dozen times tonight. I think it was in the thirteenth that a graphic was flashed: the Mets were 1 for 13 with RISP. Lovely, yes? Well, turns out they didn't need it. An error, Easley's on third. Bags were INTed full and... another wild pitch sent Easley home. A cheap run, but one nonetheless, and the Mets done swept Washington.
What a crappy ending. XD Washington's gotta be kicking themselves.
Wright did absolutely nothing (0-5 with two walks, including one in the 14th (although he didn't look bad tonight. Those... eyebrows....)), and Pagán (♥♥♥) did well in the first half of the game, but didn't contribute -- the Nats' starter, whose name escapes me right now, sent sixteen in a row back to the dugout, with eleven K's, after he gave up the first run -- and came out in a double switch in extra.
My next job should be as a sportscaster. XD There need to be more female sportscasters, I think. I'd try not to fangirl on TV. >.>;;
Point of the recap was that even though I was far away from being at Shea tonight, long games are tiring to watch. Even though I was very slowly stitching the edges of my gloves, I'm beat. Bedtime nao, and I'll finish in the morning. @_@
See y'all at NYCC. ^_^
