I don't usually ever do these, but....

Okay, so it was April 29, 1995; I was almost thirteen. And I was somewhere in the middle of the order, I have no idea why. So I took a couple of pitches -- because I always look for the first strike, to judge the umpire's strike zone -- and then swung on the next pitch.

I had a bad habit of putting my all into every swing, which really hurt my shoulders and, worse, made me close my eyes. You know that saying "keep your eye on the ball"? Yeah, that's where that's supposed to apply. XD I could never keep my eyes open. Anyway, I got lucky, and drove a nice shot to centerfield. It actually turned out to be a double. It was PRETTY AWESOME, and we won 28-17 that day.

That story's nice, but my FAVORITE softball tale will always be the time I was the third out in a TRIPLE PLAY.

WAIT. This post... wasn't supposed to be about softball, was it?

(BTW The World Series can go fuck itself.)

Another post later, perhaps. I might have an adventure today. :D

"All that [a city completely fucking obliterated and totally rebuilt] happened in sixteen years? It took them seven years just to build a new Freedom Tower!" --Guillermo

MORE LATER. Leaving in about thirty minutes. :D

Work was silly, and there wasn't much for me to do. I got there late, but I wound up staying late, so it's all good.

I dozed off on the train, but went to the new Halloween Adventure in Midtown. It was much brighter there, so I like it already. I hope they stay open year-round! I didn't buy anything, but I did get a 10% off coupon, which is good until Halloween. I might go back.

I saw a lot of cowboy things there. Irvine? XD (I don't want the streak to end!) He's pretty easy....

I stopped by the Sanrio store because I figured it would be open again after its face lift. Oh, it's open, but it SUCKS. It's more of a hoity-toity, upscale, boutiquey kinda place now, which is utterly retarded. There's hardly any merchandise at all (and what merchandise there is is probably way too expensive for its own good), and most of it is Kitty, so there's no Chococat or Kuromi or ANYTHING. It's really lame, and I'm never going back (WHERE WILL I GET MY FIX?!). Sad face.

I walked to the garment district next to go pattern hunting for Beatrix. I'M FINALLY STARTING ON IT. I found two patterns, so we'll see how that turns out. Hopefully, well! Unfortunately, it took me two hours to rifle through all the patterns available, and my back and shoulders hurt from having stood so long. At least it turned out to be worth it!

Last stop was Kinokuniya, in hopes of getting little stationery things that I don't need. XD The Sanrio store disappointed me. Unfortunately, that turned out to be way expensive as well. Sixteen dollars for an aluminum card case? Twenty-two dollars for a tiny bento box that didn't even come with its own chopsticks?! You gotta be shitting me!

(There were, however, some cute shirts there. One said 秋 (aki; autumn), another said 桜 (sakura; cherry tree), and the third had a bowl of miso soup and said "Mi So Hungry." I would have bought one if I could have settled on one!)

So, finally, I got to Guillermo! We went a little farther than usual, to see if the *new* place was open yet, but they were still working on it, so we went to Menkui-Tei. I opted for shoyu ramen with curry rice, Guillermo got tan-tan. I ate the entire thing! ^_^ I was so proud of myself! ... I was really hungry. And then we went to Beard Papa for dessert -- two cream puffs each. The Beard Papa cream puffs are so good -- and stopped off at a crappy seasonal Halloween store before heading home.

I couldn't stay awake and wound up sort-of napping for a half-hour. All my caffeine finally gave out on me. I could still hear things, which is why I say sort of, but I couldn't open my eyes or move. Not that I wanted to!

Guillermo made me some tea and that's done a little to keep me awake. We watched the first episode of Saikano, which Guillermo says is Abe's favorite anime. We can't figure out why because it's PRETTY DAMN LAME. I know the premise of the entire thing, but the first episode did not interest me AT ALL. I really want to punch Chise in the face. D:< (At least it was fun to MST?)

Project A-ko was a lot better, if only because it was made in the '80s, and the animation and music reflect that very well. XDDD I only got through twenty minutes or so before it was time for me to leave, but Guillermo lent it to me -- like he did his Avengers 2 DVD last time, and I forgot to return it! -- so I can finish it. I think I'll enjoy it. :D

I made it home in an hour. WHOA. And since I didn't see my family today, I'll probably stop by before work tomorrow, so I should get to bed soon.
