Poor Ollie.

It's time for a new computer. From a store. I'm having the same issues with Ollie that I did before the Great Video Card Crash of '09, not to mention that he's become impossibly slow. There's not much I can do anymore; he's almost more trouble than he's worth. Time to let it go.

Fortunately for me, there's Best Buy right next to my train station in the city! :D I went in and checked out what they have. I was thinking about getting a laptop, but a lot of them didn't have price/specs labels, so I didn't want to chance it with those. I found a small desktop for $480, and it looks like it has a lot of the things I want. It'd just be the tower, but my monitor works just fine (and if not, there's another one downstairs that no one's using). I think, despite having class tomorrow evening, Ollie's not gonna make the weekend, so it's worth the schlep crosstown and the extra two bucks' train fare to bring home the new compy tomorrow.

(I was also looking at digital cameras, because I've needed a new one of those for a while, now. A new iPod, alas, will have to wait. D: I don't have $1000 to drop on electronics in one go.)
