Said the girl who's going to karaoke with her coworkers tomorrow evening.
I can handle the good-natured teasing (it's all good-naturedto my face, thankfully) about my cosplaying and, relatedly, my British accent -- which I'm sure is awful (and a regional mish-mosh), despite what people tell me -- but sometimes it's too much. It's a little embarrassing, especially because I think of work as work and I think of fun as fun, and the two aren't supposed to meet (which is kinda why I bailed on karaoke the first time. I'm only going tomorrow for the lulz triple play). Too many people know about my hobbies now, I think, and I was heckled (probably not the right word for it) into doing the accent at the holiday party this afternoon, and it's just like ... augh, leave me alone. Yes, I'm strange. I do strange things in my off-time. But that is my off-time, and this is my on-time, and it's kind of none of your business. :/ I only told you to begin with so I could make some small-talk and maybe a friend... even though I don't believe coworkers can be true friends. Augh.
And listening to hockey on the radio is really difficult. Because everything is always moving, and can change at a moment's notice, I have to pay attention, instead of listen with an idle ear like I do for baseball. @_@
P.S.
paulnolan, I got your card today, thank you! ^_^ (CIIIID!) I got it in my hand today, but I see it was postmarked two weeks ago, so who knows who long it's been sitting around without my mother telling me about it. But thank you! ♥
GODDAMN FUCKING RANGERS
