I don't like April Fool's Day.
Apr. 1st, 2010 04:38 pmJust so you know. But I was pleasantly surprised checking my flist this morning. This made me giggle. ... See if all April Fool's Day jokes were like that, I wouldn't mind it so much. Other than that:
Got to the stylist at ten, which was bad, because the place was packed, so I sat tight and waited. On the bright side, I brought a book with me, so I read. The Color of Water is one of my favorite books ever, and it's a very easy read, so despite its three hundred pages, it's easily doable in an afternoon (reading the Wiki article, I'm sad to learn that Ruth passed away this January. Her life's story notwithstanding, her son made her sound like such an amazing woman, and it would have been an honor to meet her; today would have been her eighty-ninth birthday). I'll save why I love it so much for the Thirty Days Meme coming up in November (I figure the meme's a good way for me to tackle NaBloPoMo, eh?), though you can probably guess why I love it so much if you read the summary.
While at the stylist, Mongoose called me, and I was a bit confused. She went on about the latest PKMN game being recalled, and I don't have it -- nor was I ever really into PKMN anyway -- but I let her talk. She was like "Tell your friends! D: And then when you're done, tell them 'April Fool'!" -_-; It's nice that I didn't fall for it, and also nice that she reminded me what day it was.
I went to the bank, then to the library for pleasure-reading. I meant to get just Wizard's First Rule, making it an official tradition to reread the entire series come spring (funnily, my April Fool's Day icon on dA is of Richard and Kahlan all "YAY TEAM SEEKER!". I lol'd), but I also walked out with HHGG, Stardust, Ender's Game, and A War of Gifts (but which one do I read first?!). I asked for a bag and the librarian was like "Five dollars. :|" but I laughed it off as an April Fool's joke and he caved, too.
But seriously, don't mess with me and money. I have so little! D:
Ran back to the pet shop to get a meat-shaped chew toy for Sokka for this weekend. XD I don't have Boomerang, nor time to make another one, so props will have to suffice. ... And then I can give it to Bradley.
IT'S SO GORGEOUS OUT. Seventy degrees and clear skies, man, it's like Tatooine out there! :D
So I think I'm going to finish packing now, and take a quick nap before Esmeralda gets here and whisks me away to Boston. See some of you there! :D
