More update: Dad's home. :D!!
Matt and I visited him in the hospital this afternoon, and while it was unclear when he would be coming home, well, obviously. He's here now. Hurray! I just hope he remembers to take it easy the next couple of days (he won't, because I know my dad, but I can be naïve, can't I?)
Oh, and I know a few people expressed interest: no, he didn't keep his appendix. XD He says he didn't ask to, and the damn thing was about to blow anyway, so. *shrug*
