This year, I'm a little more at peace with Thanksgiving, but I still can't shake the feeling in the back of my mind every year. I suppose that won't ever go away. And I don't like that my family's here, making me more miserable. I kept myself voluntarily locked in my bedroom -- yes, locked, because the brats have a habit of opening every door in sight for no fucking reason, and they are not going to open mine -- until nine-forty-five when it was quiet and dark enough downstairs that I deemed it safe enough and end-of-the-first-period enough (totally watching the Avalanche and Oilers because there's little else for me to do) to try to get something to eat (oh, and those twenty minutes that I was in the shower and brushing my teeth this afternoon).

The food's okay, but family has this really bad habit of cooking everything with ham for "flavor," never mind that vegetables do indeed have their own (and it's commonly known as "delicious"). The cabbage had ham in it, the green beans had ham in them, and then, as brazen as you please, there was actual ham. People wonder why I don't eat ham, bacon, and other pig-meats very often despite their tastiness, and that's why (also the smell turns my stomach when it's cooking). But there was ice cream and pumpkin pie and that is what I signed up for. Newcomer: lemon meringue! And no one's touched it, which means I probably get it all to myself for the next week. Oooh, oooh, and a fresh bottle of Pepsi, yes! Didn't see any eggnog or grape juice/wine, though, so I has a slight sad.

Speaking of sad, *sigh* I miss you, Grampa. Even if no one else was thinking about you tonight, I always will. ... Funny, I don't remember cutting onions in the past twenty seconds (today is the eleventh anniversary of my grandfather's death, and I've not been the same person since. For fun, check your calendars and take note of which day of the week November 25, 1999 fell on. Thursday. Thanksgiving. We got the call just before we were about to sit down to dinner). Okay, stopping now before it gets worse.

In completely random news, what the fuck, they're getting rid of Felicity now?!

Let's just do the meme. )

The game's over, Edmonton won 3-2, scoring their last goal with like 30 seconds left, so I think I'll be off for more ice cream and soda. Ta~ ♪
