But first, the Katsucon schedule is up. There are a bajillion para panels, but only one features hostesses who've been on Japanese TV to my knowledge.... :3

Augh. )

As if that's not bad enough, I had a shitty day in general. As I mentioned in the last post, my beautiful jacket is done, but I stayed up until five-something finishing it. I got up for work at seven, so I had less than two hours of sleep. I knew I was going to be drained, so I got a coffee with an extra shot in it. Kept me alert, which was good, but my body started slowing down around one o'clock. I grabbed a soda to keep myself going, but the real need to sleep got to me, and while my body was doing one thing, my brain was doing another, and I got a terrible headache, a headache which was worsened by my poor vision: I can't find my glasses.

Last time I wore my glasses was Tuesday, but I took them off and put them in my bag because they weren't sitting right on my face. That's fine, I'm in front of a computer all day and don't normally wear my glasses for that. I was pretty certain I had them in my bag -- and all day yesterday, too. What would I do with them if I didn't need them? -- but they weren't there this morning. And something else is missing, but I can't put my finger on what. If I find that, I might find my glasses next to it. Either way. I didn't think to take my lenses with me -- I hate my lenses anyway, and I was doing well to have put on clean clothes, I think -- so I went around unable to see all day. And when everything's blurry, the headaches start....

Fortunately, today's Thursday. I got home and jumped into bed and slept for three hours, and that's helped the exhaustion a little bit. I'm going to do a load of laundry, figure out what cosplay things I need to shop for tomorrow, then get my ass out to the city to get them AND a new pair of glasses. I just hope I can find a place where I can get them at a low cost... bleh. I'm done.

Pictures tomorrow because I don't have them yet.

So thanks to [livejournal.com profile] nathair_aonad's tip, I went to Cohen's Fashion Optical. There are a bajillion locations, so I went to the one on 42nd St., because I had to do some trim shopping today. I had to wait for a bit, but otherwise everything was super-quick. I've never had such a pleasant experience shopping for eyeglasses! I got little rectangular frames that are narrower across my face than I'm used to, but they still look okay (and I've noticed that my frames have become increasingly more rectangular as time's gone on; my first pair was practically circular). I'm ashamed to report that I had to stare in the mirror an extra second and envision what I would look like with them in cosplay, as I have quite a few characters who wear glasses. orz I paid $99 for the frames and lenses (regular ol' plastic lenses), $25 for a warranty that covers broken or lost glasses, and $20 for the eye exam (coupon!). I was so afraid I was going to have to pay more, but... nope! And the order was placed today, so I'll be able to see tomorrow afternoon at the latest. Not to mention that I haven't had a new pair of glasses in a disgustingly long time (I was still in All-City when I got my last pair, LOL).... So that's good and I'm very happy.

As for the trim shopping... not a total bust. I got lots of buttons and a patch? I called it quits when I couldn't find buckles that matched in color or size, and it's not like I won't be back in the city tomorrow anyway. I just hope they call early enough. Or that I go shopping first and find what I need early enough. I hate dragging Es along, though. Bleh.

Back to work, I suppose. The buttonholes gave me hell last night, so I'll do those now.
