WE'RE IN!!!
Apr. 9th, 2011 11:08 pmThe Rangers won 5-2 this afternoon, and Carolina lost 6-2, so the Rangers finally clinch their playoff spot and will face Washington in the quarters.
At the end of one in the Rangers game, it was 2-1 Devils. I was out fabric shopping and had no idea what was going on. When Es tapped my shoulder again, it was 4-2 with a minute and a half to go in the second. As for Carolina, I got to listen to most of that game. Got home and it was 3-0 Lightning at the end of one. Carolina pulled to 4-2 in the third with tenish minutes left, but Tampa held on, and scored two empty netters in the final few minutes.
As a new Rangers fan, the past few seasons don't count, so this is the first time my team has made it into the playoffs since late 2006. I'm so happy, and this year's CPAC will be much less stressful hockey-wise.
And the fabric shopping? An eventual success. I went to every store on 38th St., and found blue stretch wool -- I was ready to take anything that would drape right, but I got the wool -- in the very last store. They charged me quite a bit for it, but I didn't really have much of a choice. Whatever, I got it, and will start on the dresses on Monday.
Tomorrow's CPAC and I've been reassigned to Canada. ... Shit, what do I talk about? I suppose I can get away with being quiet....
