A very early night.
Nov. 16th, 2011 11:18 pmThere's not much for me to do, and only
conjure_lass to talk to. Not that I don't enjoy our conversations, but when it dies, it'll be bedtime* for me.
*I actually fell asleep writing this post. I had a lovely three-hour nap, so I can listen to the entire Canucks game and still get a lot of sleep. Fuck yeah!

SO MOVING ONTO LESS AWKWARD THINGS the Canucks just scored, and they're up 1-0 early in the second. There's a Movember video up on their site. HELLO, GENTLEMEN!ryan does it matter that i like your moustache? i mean, since you obviously need a new wife....
Dan Girardi is adorable, and I hope the write-in effort for a spot for him in the ASG comes through.
As for Jose Reyes, false alarm a couple of days ago, thank goodness, but still serious. In the newspaper this morning: "The Miami Marlins have offered free agent shortstop Jose Reyes a six-year contract worth $90 million, FoxSports.com reported.
"Not only that, the Mets shortstop is reportedly thinking hard about the prospect of playing for manager Ozzie Guillen in the warm-weather climate of South Florida, the reported [sic] stated, citing a source close to Reyes."
So we're safe for now. "Thinking hard" is a vague phrase, though, and could mean anything. Fingers crossed.
13. Favorite playoff moment? Guh, so many! Was it staying up until two in the morning every day for two weeks, too impatient for the morning and its results of single-elimination Olympic hockey? Was it backs-to-the-wall Team Canada crushing Team Russia after a stinging loss? Was it Johnny Toews woo-hoo-hooing like a kid on Christmas when he got to hoist the Cup? Or maybe it was as simple as the Rangers squeezing into the playoffs this year, or the Canucks stomping into the SCF (this was pretty much me, except less crying and more SCREAMING). No, it was definitely the gold-medal game in men's ice hockey in last year's Olympics. So many butterflies before the game started. "Team USA. Team Canada. It's like playing your big brother," the announcers said.i'm still not sure which one is the big brother. And still, that feeling, the heart-stopping anxiety right before the first puck fell, was nothing compared to Team USA tying the game with just twenty-four seconds to go. There they were: sudden death overtime. Would the Americans beat the Canadians at their own game in their own house? Would Team Canada come back to win and put those upstart Yanks in their place and cement their place as the world's greatest hockey nation? A good chunk of North America held its collective breath....
You know what? Sometimes it doesn't matter how the story ends. Sometimes the story itself is the best part. :D
