*blink blink* What did I even do on Friday?
Saturday, I know, I went to Lush karaoke. OH MAN I never realized how much more fun alcohol makes it. :V It was really nice to have a grown-up crowd, and to have a little more fun than usual. Most people were really cool about drinking, and even if they were drunk, didn't show it too much. And the people who'd never done karaoke before were amazed that the time flew as quickly as it did.
The white elephant gift exchange was pretty good, too. Jet wound up with the hot chocolate set I bought, and I got Maria's bracelets, which are COOL and MAKE NOISE and will be so much fun when I cosplay Relm and fem!India. It worked out so that we were all so happy with what we initially picked up that no one stole anyone else's presents (though we all bought new things (which might've been part of why we were all so happy), we put a limit of $20)! Kiera also got me a little Rangers Christmas tree ornament, and I was happy to put that on the tree at home.
After karaoke, we went to Joe Shanghai's for dinner. I just had soup dumplings (and ice cream because omg). :V I might have been wearing my Canucks jersey in case I went through Times Square to get certain pictures for a certain contest. Wound up not going that way, but I did make more than a couple of single-serving friends because of the jersey. "Hey, Kesler!" "Are you from Vancouver? I love the Canucks!" "Wow, I never thought I'd see a Canucks jersey out here in New York...." Man, I felt cool. XD
After dinner, naturally, I found myself at Leigh's, which seems to be where I wind up for anything nowadays. We hung out to discuss admin things (and forgot some ;a;), and wound up staying until about 2:30 in the morning. Leigh drove us home.
We were right back over on Sunday, just hanging out all day. It was cold, though, a good 25F (-3C) in the morning. Not that that's altogether unusual for December (a little bit), but compared to the fifties we've been having all month, it's a bit drastic. We had tea, got Ricardo, got food, played a bunch of games, and wound up going home around 11:45.
Today, I fucking slept. My mom bothered me about ten to seven, and, summarily, the conversation went like this:
"Venus, have you been here all day?"
"Yes."
"Why did you help your dad? You know he's here."
"I was asleep, I can't do things while I'm asleep."
"DON'T GET SARCASTIC WITH ME."
But, ew, seriously, I thought someone else was here. And now I'm expected to do things I didn't know I was supposed to do (because I was asleep) while I'm asleep. And she didn't ask in a very timely fashion; she usually gets home from work about three or so, but waited four hours to see what I was doing first. Um, okay. And she didn't even know I had been here, what if I hadn't've been here? You know, like yesterday when I walked in at midnight, and no one knew I had been missing all day (no one asked, no one called. Mom didn't even make mention of the text message I sent last night when I was leaving Leigh's).
It's that inconsistency I can't fucking stand. I would write it off as stress about my dad if she hadn't already said tons of stupid things before. I really think some people just don't wanna listen to what I'm saying and assume because I'm saying it, it's something assholish. I'm looking at you, F. That's the only possible explanation I've got.
Since then, I've hidden in my room (which isn't much different than what I'd been doing all day but shhhh). Canucks just won their twentieth game, 4-0, against Minnesota! Philly lost against Colorado, but in the shootout, and Boston beat Montreal, so Boston goes up to first by a point, and the Rangers are four points behind the Flyers. They play the Devils tomorrow.
And XXXXX died and XXXXX died and XXXXX died and XXXXX almost died but then he turned around and killed XXXXX instead! /storm of swords, i'm still not at the red wedding. i have no idea when it happens but i still have like 700 more pages in this freakin' book. i'm way off pace.
That's about it.
