All my posts are progress posts now.
Mar. 29th, 2012 01:25 amAt least they're short!
So I started working on the hemline of the underskirt yesterday, and cut the scalloped edge. It was actually very easy!

All I did was fold it in 36ths (halved, halved, thirded, thirded), trace my protractor over the edge -- it fit perfectly somehow! -- and cut it all out. Bam. Perfect scalloped edge.
Today, I started working on finishing the edge because holy shit does this fabric fray like it's going out of style:

It's slow going because I can't seem to find my interfacing (though I think it's upstairs in the attic in a bin. I recently upgraded to a fabric bin. SO MANY BINS). I'll hunt for it tomorrow and if it's not there, that's just something else I have to buy. I've re-cut the bodice pieces, so once I get the skirt done, it's pretty much downhill.oh wait the sleeves shit
Does anyone know how to finish a chiffon edge? Of course I can finish it the way I'm used to, but it's going to take ages (it's over NINETEEN FEET of skirt edge), but if there's a quicker way, that'd be pretty cool and handy to know. Thanks~the internet said something about melting it and i'm like lol no i don't need to set my bedroom on fire kthx
Other shit that's not as cool or important. One more stupid Korra "art," and the Rangers are back in first in the league after tonight's come-from-behind win in Winnipeg (MDZ with a short-handed goal, Boyle (lost a tooth! DAWSON, NOOOOOO) and Step with power play goals, and Captain being Captain). Pittsburgh had the night off, so the lead in the ATL is back up to five points. Pittsburgh plays the Islanders tomorrow night and Buffalo on Friday both on the road; the Rangers play Montreal on Friday at the Garden. Vancouver beat Colorado 1-0 tonight, moving (again) to within two of idle St. Louis.
There's also baseball happening, but it's not the Mets yet so I don't really care (that's a regular-season game played in Japan, btw).
Feel like I'm missing something. OH WELL. I'm going to bed early tonight, and hopefully I don't wake up with a headache again tomorrow. Augh.
