Just checking in.
Apr. 13th, 2012 03:10 amMy family showed up Wednesday afternoon and it was horrid. They were gone Thursday morning, though, so that's good. But man I couldn't watch the Canucks game and had to settle for hearing them lose. :(
The Rangers won, though! Captain opened the scoring, and he was followed by Gabby, Boyle, and Richards. Henrik had a shutout going until about eight minutes left in the game (or thereabouts), but the final was 4-2. Win's a win, though! Sharks and Coyotes and the Bruins also won.
Mets play again on Friday, too. They've got an interesting showdown on the road against the Phillies this weekend; Dickey gets the start tomorrow against Cliff Lee. ._.
Not that, y'know, I'll see any of these games because I'll be at Laura's all weekend. A thingie on Saturday and a practice on Sunday. I think next weekend I'll spend the entire weekend in New York State. XD
Another gem from my mother: when she called me for dinner, I got to the kitchen in time to see her pouring olive oil over some boiled potatoes (and then dumping copious amounts of salt and pepper on the whole mess). I asked if it was for me, and she said yes. I said that it was WAY too much oil on the potatoes and... do you wanna guess what she told me?
"Take it out."
I'm serious, I can't make this stuff up. Because it's not like, y'know, the potatoes would absorb that oil, and it's not like, even if I could take it out, I would pour salted and peppered oil back into the bottle-- woman, what the fucking fuck is wrong with you?
