Finally: leftovers.
Nov. 8th, 2012 10:14 pmNot that I'll ever complain about meatloaf! And mashed potatoes with gravy and lingonberry sauce, alongside a salad. At first, I thought all the vegetables had gone old because it all looked brown, but it turned out just to be some weird balsamic vinaigrette my mom threw in there.
So it snowed a lot yesterday. Great. I went outside in the middle of the night and the snowfall measured TEN INCHES in my front yard. A lot of trees were sagging (and some wound up broken!) because of the weight of all the snow, and the snow and wind knocked over one of the azalea bushes on the side of the house (which is funny, because it LITERALLY survived a hurricane last week). This morning and afternoon, though, it had melted a lot, because it was a really wet, slushy snow. The streets are clear enough for traffic, but they're not clean, and the subways seem like they're running with minimal changes (save lower Manhattan and the Rockaways, which doesn't affect me), so we're almost completely back to normal 'round here. THANK GOODNESS.
THE POND IS OPEN SO I'M GOING SKATING TOMORROW! ;A; And then I'm off to Es'. I'll wait for Monday to worry about my hair because it'll be freakin' SIXTY DEGREES. ... Yup, snow yesterday, sixty degrees five days later. ¯\(ツ)/¯
My dad's finally having his knee surgery tomorrow (it was supposed to have been last year!), so fingers crossed for him. I hope everything goes smoothly because I hate seeing him limp around with a cane. :(
