There's good news and there's bad news
Dec. 21st, 2004 10:56 pmFirst, the good news. We got the new computer today! And it looks pretty. It makes no noise and even the keyboard's quiet. And wireless (ooooh, batteries....). And the mouse is wireless, too. That's still not going to kill my habit of using them as though they weren't. Though maybe I'll be more inclined to type from across the room when I'm watching TV. The bad news, though, is that we can't connect it to the internet. Cable modem's all hooked up, and I do the same thing I do for my own computer, but this machine's not having any of it. :::sigh::: So now, in addition to my already hefty list of things to get done tomorrow on my day off, I have to call a million places (I HATE talking on the phone!) to try and solve this problem. And I hope it gets taken care of. I have laundry to do and letters to write and... oy.
Made $4 bonus for two shows yesterday, and I'm betting at least a dollar's bonus today. Whee! Like I said, I've got tomorrow off, so that's great. Thursday I'm back on and doing tours all day. Saturday too. NINE hours on Saturday. That's nearly $150. Plus, we're SO gonna make bonus. People get generous at Christmas. And I got a five-dollar tip today. This was the first time I got a tip in front of a manager, so I declined more than I usually would, but then the guy literally threw the bill at me, so I took it. Doug didn't say anything.
Current S/L that me and Olua have going is really sad. One of our favorite couples is breaking up (out of necessity) and only after a short time. I'm all but crying. It's emotional. I don't know HOW we're going to work our way out of this one (Hurray for plot devices? LOL, I don't know). :::hugs teddy bear:::
Oh. And Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince is coming out at midnight BST (British Summer Time) on July 16, 2005 (so, would that be 7 PM on the 15th for me? What an odd time... lol), so I've heard. That makes me all sorts of excited. It'll be a while before I read it -- no spoilers or I kill you. This is fair warning -- because I'll have to mooch, but, WHEEE!! I'm reminded to work on my Ravenclaw Quidditch costume, though, for the movie (slated for Nov. 12 '05, I believe). So, three costumes. Four if I count Chun Li. ... You see how quickly this just snowballs out of control?!
