Con Tour 2005 and Check Yourself
Dec. 22nd, 2004 11:34 pmI sent off my registration to Anime Boston today. Yippie! I'm sending out registration for Anime NEXT tomorrow, only because I couldn't get Dad to print me out the form at work, BUT he came home with a new printer today. :::fanfare::: So that's good. Con Tour '05 is underway, hitting up at least Massachusetts and New Jersey. Now if I could get to Otakon, that'd be GREAT.
I didn't accomplish all that I wanted to today. I slept until noon thirty, which was refreshing. I wanted to sleep longer, but I was in that weird place that's only half-sleep. You're lying there and your eyes are closed, but you're still alert to everything going on around you... you know? Then I had to pee, so I got out of bed and stayed out of bed. :3
Until five o'clock. Yup, I'm lazy!
I went out to cash my check at the Western Union on Francis and Jamaica. Two weeks ago, when I went out to dinner with Phill, they said they couldn't cash it in Astoria because there was a WU closer to where I lived. I just sucked up the bullshit reason (I told my mom that this afternoon and she looked at me funny, so I KNOW it was bullshit) and was on my merry way, upset that I couldn't pay my half of dinner. Next time. But today's bullshit reason they couldn't cash it was because the company was from Jersey and I didn't have the phone number to call up and... oh my lord, I was there for nearly half an hour just waiting. Eventually I took my check back and walked over to the post office. I wanted to have some money in my pocket AFTER I bought the money orders, but I guess fifty bucks is enough to last me the weekend. And I get paid on Friday besides, so it's partially okay.
But Goddesses, why does getting money have to be so difficult? I don't understand any of it. I need to let my check sit in the bank for three-and-a-half days before I can get my money?! I have to have MORE money in my account than what my check is worth? How am I supposed to even start an account in the first place, then? And all this instate/out-of-state grief. It's almost not worth it. I mean, what good is having a job if I can't get the money I've earned?
Almost done with OoT, then I'll get back to Pikmin (and Super Mario RPG, once I find where my SNES went). Dampé just kills me every time. It's the most annoying Heart Piece to get (for me, at least). At least I don't lose life if I don't finish the others. After that, I can run around doing everything else (got my arrow upgrades; the Shooting Gallery only cost me 20 rupees!) and beat the game, sans fifth bottle, sans walkthrough, all me. Woohoo! Then I can start worrying about how FAST I can finish it. ^_^ And I guess I'll get on that now.
