There's a strange dog in my house....
Jan. 27th, 2005 01:54 amAbout midnight-fifteen, Matt asked me if I'd noticed any strange dogs in our yard. No. Noel (our dog) didn't bark and I didn't hear anything outside. I was watching TV with my dad not too long before that. Matt told me that last week a pitbull was dropped off in our yard, and now a little toy-looking dog. Oh. Okay. I shrugged and went back to whatever I was doing. Then I saw aforementioned little dog running through the house. Oh. Isn't he such a nice guy, bringing a friendly little pup into the house so it wouldn't freeze to death outside?
After a bit of patience while TRYING to watch TV, I found the dog's name is Booker. It says "Jack R." on his tag, but he doesn't look like a Jack Russell, so maybe that's his owner's name? On the face of the tag (that other information was etched on the reverse), it says he was taken care of by Puppy Paradise, an adoption center on Flatbush Ave. in Brooklyn. There was also a website and a phone number. TERRIFIC. I just called and found the store opens at nine in the morning. Perhaps Dad will call them then. I left a sheet of paper with telephone numbers and the address and everything in the handle of the coffee pot, where he CANNOT miss it.
Matt was a bit less patient than I. He said he couldn't read the tag because it was "all chewed up" and thought the dog's name was Bookie ("boo" like you're trying to scare someone).
I let Booker and Noel outside about forty-five minutes ago to run around because they were both jumpy and Booker looked like he was starting to mark things. I figured it was better if he did that outside. -_- Right now, they're playing. Just running around a lot. Booker more so than Noel because she's nine, so she's getting old. I don't know much about dogs, so I can't estimate how old he is.
And like I said, Booker's friendly. He's jumped on me and tried to lick me (I wouldn't let him because he was licking Noel.... yecch) and had no problem letting me pet him. He's adorable. I hope his family -- if they're a good family -- isn't too upset or worried. And I hope we can get him back to them as soon as possible, or at least to the adoption place.
Oh. And Phill was by yestertoday. We ordered pizza, played games, the usual. It is a happy Winter-een-mas for all.
Today I'll be chillin' with Lynda and her friend from work (I think she said her name was Gillian?). Out to lunch (sushi!), funtime at LaG, catchin' a flick. And Lynda and I will do cosplay stuff in the morning. And maybe she can find out what's wrong with her discs...
