I never want to see another Mets logo as long as I live.

Hahahaha.

First day of work and what did I do all day? I played with t-shirts and jerseys and jackets and the like. I folded them. I hung them up. You know that new-t-shirt smell? My hands smell like that. It's horrible. But that's basically all I did today, while freezing myself to death, played with t-shirts. Beltran, Martinez, Wright... everyone. T-shirts, jerseys, jackets, toddler outfits, girly shirts, everything. My hands completely blanched from the cold; it was horrible. I couldn't feel them OR my toes. My back, entire left leg and left shoulder all hurt, and BOTH of my knees, especially. I had a pronounced limp by the time I left. Augh. Nine and a half hours -- when it was only supposed to be eight -- because the manager people were really anal about having all the t-shirt displays OMFGEXACTLY THE SAME! On top of that, I was subjected to nine and a half hours of Hot97 (the local rap station) to make my IQ plummet about, oh, fifty points. HOW anyone can tolerate that nonsense -- and have the gall to call it music! -- is beyond me (they were giving out PSPs for being the 97th caller, and if you knew what PSP stood for (PlayStation Portable. Duh). Can you blame me for halfway wanting to call in? Come on! FREE PSP! Like you wouldn't try....). Anyway.

After work, Phill came by in the ambulance -- with Lance and Lauren -- and generously gave me a lift back to Corona, where I warmed the hell up and ate. He looked at my hands, which were dark red while I boiled water for noodles and asked, "Why are your hands are so swollen?" as he squeezed my rock-hard fingertips. "Oh," I replied. "That's cuz there's blood in them now, you see." Because there WAS. I ate my noodles and was slightly happier. I watched Phill dispatch for a while -- genuinely interested in just how to dispatch a call -- and then I got a ride to the train station.

Came home. Watched TV. You know. Nothing special after that.

Happy 18th, Lee! We shall celebrate tomorrow (I hope)! You know what? Yeah. Let's really. We'll be stupid and girly and eat lots of chocolate and ice cream. I like that idea. So if, randomly, I hand you a quart and a spoon, drop the books and let's go watch The Princess Bride. ^_^
