The Trio Reunites!
Mar. 25th, 2005 06:34 pmSo I was supposed to meet the guys at Jamaica at 11:30ish. I decided to check my voicemail (on my broken lil phone ;-;) and found two messages from Alex. One was Bananaphone :::rolls eyes::: and the other was important; telling me that we'd push it back to 1 because Seto was being stupid. Fine (later Alex called and moved it up to 12:30, and damn, I was still early).
Found Alex and wow. Hair. Lots of it. We looked at the schedule to see when Seto's train was set to get in, and ... it wasn't for an hour. So we sat and BSed. Eventually we found Seto, and starving as we were, ran down into the train station to go get lunch.
Took them to sushi, which was enjoyable. Thirty dollars (incl. tip) for the three of us, which was just what I expected. Back on the train -- free transfer! -- and went back to Rubie's to get Alex devil's horns and a tail for his Rab costume.
Rubie's was closed.
I got upset, and lost, we just started to walk. Seto had to go home, because he had to go to church, and we weren't terribly far, so we hoofed it. A fifteen minute walk with two friends? Not bad. We walked back to the A train, which was considerably closer than walking back to the E. Seto dropped a hint about another costume store somewhere near Union Square (around 11th and B'way) and said goodbye. There was much hugging and I was slightly injured.
We jumped on the A and took it to Broadway, then the L. I hadn't taken the L train many times before, so I HOPED we were going in the right direction (it was hard to tell because we were in Brooklyn for a while and I didn't have a map near me, nor did I feel like giving up my seat). Fortunately, I hadn't led us wrong -- seeing the "To Canarsie" trains on the other track didn't ease my worries enough -- and we were soon in Union Square. Yay.
Walked down to 11th and couldn't see a costume store, so we just picked a direction and walked. Alex said he saw a sign that said "Costume" but thought his eyes were playing tricks on him. We kept walking. As we neared the end of the block, I saw the sign and his eyes were right. Costume store! Woohoo! We went in.
Couldn't find his gloves, but it wasn't long before we found his horns and tail. We wandered a bit more, in search of drinks, found them near the train station and headed back underground.
It was 6:30ish. Alex's train didn't leave for another TWO HOURS. Peak times are dumb.
We got back to Jamaica around 7:30, thanks to taking the R train all the way to 71st, and sat. Around eight, he decided he wanted to ball my yarn, because I was sitting there knitting and he was bored stupid (though he was probably just stupid to begin with, lol). He was going really well for about fifteen minutes, then ran into a literal snag. He'd knotted my yarn. And it wasn't just a small knot. It was a big mondo freakin' knot, and it was TIGHT. We picked at it for a good ten minutes, but 8:30 rolled around and he had to go and leave me with my knotted yarn. Sigh.
Not only that, but it had been two hours since we got on the subway, so my transfer expired. >_< I got on the E, took it to the F, managed to completely unknot the yarn in minutes and came home. That was my stupid day. And I should get to sleep soon, considering I've got work in the morning. X_X
