"Thank you for the bread!" -Alafia
Jun. 25th, 2005 09:42 pmOlua's graduation.
Got up at nine and ran around frantically, finally leaving home at half past ten. I had to walk to Hillside Ave. for a balloon on top of that, which took another fifteen minutes. I finally got the balloon after much searching, and a marker, and started scribbling all over it while I waited for the bus. The bus came really quickly, yay, but I'd missed my transfer by ten minutes, so I waited thirty more, which was okay because it was only noon, and that was when Olua wanted me at her house. :::breathes heavily:::
So the balloon came out great. I went totally schizo and signed it from all the RP characters. @_@;;
We eventually set off for C.W. Post, which was great, because I thought her graduation was going to be on Hofstra's campus... oh well. It was a mad house, and we had to try and secure wheelchair seating for Yaya.... Craziness. Alafia and I stole some seats in the back. Comfy. No one bothered us. We cheered for Olua.... I saw her mortarboard from all the way in the back straight up and down and wondered if she was writing. She was. Her posts were so cute. I need to write more tonight.
There was a guest speaker who wouldn't shut up. She just didn't realize that she was boring and repeating herself and... ick. Every time she paused, the audience would applaud loudly to try and get her off stage, but she was too dumb to notice. Way to go, Fox 5 News. You got a real winner, there.
After the procession, much hugs and some pictures, and then we went to Red Lobster for dunner. The Mets were kicking some Yankee ass, and they eventually won 10-3. w00t. Alafia was starving and ready to eat a menu. Dinner was yummy, raspberry lemonades were yummier, couldn't finish it all. Olua got an iPod. Ms. James gave me a ride to the bus. They went to Islip. I went home.
THE END.
