So. Yeah.

I still haven't attempted to play Frankenstein with my compy, but let's hope that it works when I do.

Nigel had to cancel on me on Friday, but that's okay because I slept until like FOUR anyway, for some reason.

Olua failed her placement test on Thursday by one point, so I attempted to help go over exam questions with her on Saturday. Of course, her mom was pulling up the carpet on the stairs so we were recruited to help. Ick. Even though I had a really cool breather mask, my nose was really itchy and rather than stopping every two seconds to scratch it, I decided to forgo the mask. Brilliant idea, Venus, with all those allergens in the air.... so needless to say that I was sneezing like mad, and it sucked a lot. On the other hand, it seems as though I'm getting used to the kitties.

So eventually when we got around to working on math, I thought it would be okay if I just let her work on the problems on her own. BAD IDEA. It pained me to see how slowly she worked, and it was easy, BASIC stuff, like order of operations (that was the first section). Ridiculous! So I started to go through the problems myself -- while still leaving her to work independently -- and even though I was zipping right through the problems, they were taking forever, and after a while, it was like repetitive stress disorder (or whatever it's called) on my brain, cuz I was like "what's four plus seven again?" You know when you do too much math, too fast, that happens... ick. It's annoying. I got to the third page (of four), and there were lots of quadratic equations to solve -- after I'd done about a thousand factoring problems -- and I was ready to rip out my hair and just give up. AUGH, it was the same thing over and over and over and over. So that's when I started going over the problems with Olua, astounded as to how she just couldn't finish any of the problems. It was beyond me.

I feel bad because I will never understand people not understanding math. I feel bad because I can't help!

Yesterday I spent time with Lynda (I DROVE!) and played some games... Minish, Ocarina. Dave stopped by and did an impromptu photo shoot to show off his new toys. Lynda lent me all of Escaflowne so I can get around to watching the whole thing....

Today I played some more FF9. I just got to Terra; I'm almost done.

KILLER MOSQUITOS.

Though sometimes the good ole US of A makes you cringe
Still, you know there's no place better suited to be your home.
