Why does 'pastime' look so grossly misspelt? I know it isn't; I checked it in a dictionary. Still... it looks funny.

So I'm not going out tonight. No way. I'm going to crash any minute, I know it.

I went to sleep last night around midnight-thirty because ten was too early. I didn't actually fall asleep until about one-ish, so poo. I had to wake up at six and I was all sorts of disoriented and wondering why there was no light.

I made it to work with plenty of time to spare; in fact, I'd beaten Ariana to the store. I didn't get any coffee even though I was tired because I had a four-hour shift, so I thought I'd be home and napping soon enough anyway. WRONG.

Fernando called at five after eleven to say he'd be late. OF COURSE. Ariana asked me to stay an extra hour -- he promised he'd be in by one (he was supposed to start at noon) -- so I agreed, and took my fifteen. One o'clock came and went and there was still no sign of Fernando.

Around noon, some Red Bull promotional people (they had hats and jackets and bags and everything. If I hadn't have been tired, I'd've laughed) gave us some free Red Bull. I never had it before, and I figured if I was going to stay on two extra hours on no sleep and no coffee, I needed energy to count change and smile for customers. I drank that thing with a quickness, and it tasted SO GROSS.

It was like concentrated... something. Augh. Very cherry-y in flavor, but... I can't place my finger on what it was. But it worked; I was awake, although I started to get hungry. I hadn't had my muffin either, y'know.

I stayed on the clock until 1:30 when I decided to take my second fifteen. Here's why: if you're scheduled for less than six hours, you're only allowed one fifteen-minute break, but you get paid for it. If you're scheduled for six or more hours, you're allowed one thirty-minute break, or two fifteen-minute breaks, and you have to clock out for them. At 1:30, I'd already worked five-and-a-half hours, so if I took my second fifteen and clocked out, I'd be pushed until two, which is six hours. I had to work fifteen minutes while clocked out, but I rested for fifteen while in, so it evens out. In the end, I had a six-hour day, with a thirty-minute break, a lot more than I'd bargained for.

Fernando showed up at two-fifteen. Awfully nice of him to do so. I hissed at him that he owed me a huge favor, and he does. HUUUUUUGE. I don't know what I want yet, but I'd better take care of it soon. Y'know, stressful holidays are here and maybe *I'd* like some emergency coverage. Still, I have him to thank for an extra fifteen bucks in my pocket, if I ever get my check (see transit strike later in this post).

So I was ready to go home. Nathalie stopped me on the way out and gave me a Christmas present: White Barn candles, "because I know you really like candles." <3! I have no idea what to get her, or anyone else for that matter. ._. Went to Subway and got my nummy sandwich then hopped on the train and came home.

I did, like, ZERO knitting. I'm so far behind. T_T

And now it's twenty to eight and I'm still WIIIIIIIDE awake from six this morning, thanks to the freaking Red Bull. I've got too much energy! I couldn't nap, so there's no sense in going to 131 tonight, if I'm gonna crash halfway through a stupid beer. Ew. (Not like I could stay long, anyway, as I'd be driving.)

Sigh. And then there's the transit strike. Another lovely thing.

This time, I actually care because this time, I have a job to go to. Well, not until Saturday, but still. I get paid tomorrow; I'm going to have to ask Dad to take me to the mall just for that (WILL he, is he question. He's more stubborn than I am!), and then... cash it somehow. I *was* going to open an account this week, too (no, for real this time), but that'll have to wait until I can get places on my own.

Hey, Lynda! Now that you have a car and I have no practical means of getting to work, maybe we can hang out a few days earlier than anticipated?

Right now, I want to do nothing more than curl up under my covers and nap, but I CAN'T. X_X

I suppose knitting will have to do?
