WTF LONGEST DAY EVER
Oct. 14th, 2008 07:31 pmOkay, not really, but still. I'm not home yet; I'm sitting at Phill's desk at Corona now. o_O
I should have been home hours ago. I was set to leave work at two, but Kathleen asked me to stay until five. Having nothing better to do (other than the laundry I couldn't do yesterday -- thanks Columbus, for keeping my mother home from work), I agreed.
Eight-hour shift, not so bad. Kathleen had even started teaching me stuff! I learned how to cut a mat! HURRAY! Unfortunately, that was about all I learned because Rich and Cindy hassled me to start doing freight. Even though they were two endcaps, there was a lot of little shit, so it took ages, especially when I kept getting called to the register. :::rolls eyes:::
But I learned how to cut a mat. Hurray? It doesn't sound like much, but I've been up for twelve hours and I don't even remember waking up, taking a shower, or getting TO work.
Anyway, five o'clock rolled around, and I don't remember if it was Kathleen or Sandy, but someone complained, so I took it upon myself to draw up a real quick worksheet on fractions. Yeah, fractions shouldn't be a problem you have when a good chunk of your job is measuring shit. XD Anyway, I did a real quick job of explaining it, so I feel kinda bad that Sandy didn't get the test questions I set for her.
Kathleen was more impressed -- she looked over the sheet while Sandy was on the phone with her husband -- that I drew the whole thing up in about ten minutes. Things like that make me think that I should be a math teacher, but then I remember that I don't like teaching. XD
And then there was the process of actually getting to Corona, and ... well. I just wanna go home.
( MEME TIME! )
