Happy Drum Major Appreciation Day!

I've had a thought for a while, but only now am I remembering to jot it down: why don't they use appropriately-colored LEDs for the new subway cars (or is it just because you can see red the best)? I mean, once all the trains have them, it's going to be difficult to tell which is which on a multi-line track (Queens Blvd., I'm looking at you). Also, the colors assigned are pretty arbitrary (or are they? (no, seriously. My trip to the Transit Museum last winter turned up nothing)), but they'll be even more so if the colors on the map don't match the trains.
I haven't been saying much (of substance), because there's been nothing to say (though I did forget to mention that February, while still only okay, went better than January with respect to resolutions. I really do wonder if SAD has anything to do with it), not to mention that I wrote nearly five thousand words in a post on Monday (not that you saw it. Yay, private filter). The past few days have been pretty boring.
