ZELDATHON!

So, Sapphy told me about this Zelda marathon that she and a bunch of her friends are doing. They're marathoning seven Zelda games (LoZ, AoL, ALttP, OoT, MM, WW, and TP) in seventy-two hours for charity. <3 I told her that I'd parallel-ly participate by running my own for funsies marathon at home.

I forgot how strenuous video game marathoning can be!

The event started at six, but I was shoving pizza in my face, so I got around a little late. Figured I'd start from the beginning, too, so I turned on LoZ and by the end of the first hour, I had just cleared the fourth dungeon, and was about to get all the fun stuff that comes along with clearing it (i.e., the other three heart containers and the magical sword and so on). Happily playing, collecting rupees for everything I needed and I was about to get my bomb upgrade when the game froze just under the two-hour mark.

I hadn't saved. Not once. I was so involved in the game, I completely forgot to! There might have been some *headwall* but I moved on (and I'm considering tacking two hours onto the end of the marathon to make up for the two I lost). I didn't want to look at the game -- because I didn't want to do what I'd already done! -- so I started up OoT. I already had the disc in, and I know exactly what I'm doing.

An hour into OoT (three hours into the marathon), I was getting Saria's Song. Two hours, I was just meeting Ruto. Three hours, I was getting Epona, and I've decided to call it a night when I cleared the Forest Temple at four hours (I played a little extra to get to the Fire Temple). That's where I'll pick up tomorrow, and it should probably take me just another four or five hours to finish.

I don't know which game I'll play after this one, but I'm excited to try WW and TP again because I haven't played them in forever, and Twilight Princess, just the one time (that game did not impress me at ALL, augh).

While it's REALLY OBVIOUS I won't get to finish all seven (LOL AoL), I'm pretty sure I can tackle four in seventy-two hours. If it were seventy-two hours of gameplay, I might be able to do all six, but I think that might be a little ambitious; Twilight Princess was rather long, and I failed so hard at the bridge joust. I must have died twenty, thirty times, before I fluked and got it.

Enough blabbing. Sleep now, games in the morning. <3

I'm playing MM next. :D Getting into the correct frame of mind.

I think I need to look up the word "marathon" in the dictionary because I've started to take a lot of breaks. And then there was sleeping for ten hours, I'm pretty sure that didn't help. But OoT is done, and overall play time was about ten hours. It was very nice not to have to worry about Skulltulas (I still managed to grab forty, they were RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME) and Heart Pieces and upgrades. I did go for Epona, though, and it took me four or five tries to get her for some reason?!

Y'know, I really thought I'd have more to say, but I've just been playing OoT for the past twenty-four hours, so. No. I don't. Perhaps tomorrow evening.

Edit, Hour 28: OH GODDESSES I DON'T EVEN FEEL LIKE PLAYING ANYMORE. D: I'm pretty sure that boredom's happened because I'm alone. If I were watching someone play or having someone watch me or even playing on my own while someone NEXT TO ME was playing something else, I'd be a lot happier.

Edit, Hour 29.6bar: Holy shit, David Wright took one to the head today. D: I hope he turns out okay; there's no chance in hell at the playoffs now (I mean, there is mathematically, but when you say that with six weeks to go....), but the Mets really don't need another injured player (they've got, like, ten).

P.S., still not playing. :/
