A post about work! :O
Aug. 18th, 2009 11:46 pmIt seems as though a real replacement for residency has been hired, so I'll be shuffled around yet again in two weeks (there are "plans" for me; everyone seems to know what they are, except for me. It's mildly irksome). On the bright side, I got to run numbers today, for the first time in a long time. It was wonderful. *_* And I learned how to use a new screen. Nicole and Erica mentioned today that I don't talk about work as much as I used to. That's because I LIKE MY JOB and I have nothing to complain about. And since work is all I do, these posts have become few and far between.
I did get a call from Sassa-san today, letting me know that she received my registration fees for class. WTF I mailed that yesterday! :O She said that the evening class was full, but she would be able to squeeze me in, and offered me the option of joining the afternoon class if I thought a smaller group would be better for me. No way, I chose the larger, evening class (I can hide better in a large group). Class starts the second of October -- one week after NYAF -- so while I'm glad I don't have to miss class for my performance, I'm kinda sad I don't get to explain why I was gone (of course, I could always say what I did the week before class in my intro report... :3). Akai-sensei is teaching this class (Aizawa-sensei is teaching the afternoon session), so it'll be interesting to see how things go with a new teacher.
Speaking of classes, I hear tell I'm able to take up to two classes for freesies. That'd be awesome, if there were something I'd want to take! Of course, I looked up Japanese straightaway, but only first- and second-semester courses are offered, both of which I already aced, and there were no suitable fitness classes (*coughpopdanceorgymnasticscough*) available. Sigh. But the option's there (calculus? :O). And I met Yamiley in the elevator first thing this morning; she asked me if I was a student at Baruch; "not yet" was my reply. I'm looking forward to the spring. Seto's also started working on his transfer application. "Where's yours?" he asked me. "On... the internet?" I should probably get around to that.
I also mentioned that my brother mentioned something over the weekend about going to school for business, so I immediately piped up "BARUUUUUUUUCH. That's all they do there." In retrospect, it might have been smarter to suggest a community college to him first -- let him get reacclimated to school life, not that he ever was (did I ever tell you the story of how he kicked his kindergarten teacher in the shin?) -- but he'd be able to put a check in the B and H columns, and we all like that. LOL hidden racism.
Sushi for lunch today. Seto, Christy, Andrew and I spent $50 together but didn't put so much as a dent in our hunger. We had ice cream (Seto settled for crackers) afterwards. The ice cream filled us up more than the sushi did. FAIL.
And then there's all the filing I do while sitting at my desk. OFFICE LIFE IS SO INTERESTING RIGHT?! And I'm happy. This is why I don't post; it's even more boring than it used to be. I had thought that impossible.
Hung out with Erica, Nicole, and eventually Fred at Pratt. I learned to play Mahjong. I won two out of four games. It's an okay game, but it reminds me too much of ... something, and I don't know what, but I know I'm not a fan of what it reminds me of. And then we showed him The Abandoned Classroom. It's so freakin' hot in there. D:
I have to wear a skirt on Thursday. Blecch. I have to buy a new shirt tomorrow and look pretty. I'm thinking of switching things up a bit and going purple. I'm good for shoes. (I find it interesting how, where everything else has failed, my job is turning me into more of a girl than I ever was before. HILARITY.)
Weekend is full of funtimes, even though I'm not making it out to East Islip. :D
