Toshio, round two!
Nov. 5th, 2009 07:10 pmI had a problem with Tosh almost as soon as I took him out of the box. I noticed a dead pixel on his screen late Tuesday evening. As I was hanging out all day yesterday, I couldn't bring him with me to get replaced, so I dragged him along today.
I got the replacement machine -- also called Toshio because I still can't think of anything better -- today, almost completely without hassle. One of the people on the floor helped me out right away once again (thank goodness it's not a weekend-day). I told him I had 4GB of stuff already put onto the machine; he said I could transfer it over with a flash drive if I had one (or bought one). I needed a new one, anyway, and it'll make transferring everything from Ollie go that much faster, so I did.
And then, long story short, when I tried to transfer my files, the salesperson thought I was mad, told me I couldn't, but relented, and then got angry with me -- with me! -- because I'd been given the wrong information and the computer was taking a while to do its thing. Sigh. I know it's retail, and I know it's November, and I know you've probably been on your feet all day and are stressed out, but my getting the wrong information isn't my fault. :/
Either way, Tosh-the-second and I have made it home in our respective pieces, and just in time, too, because it's started to rain, and my Hello Kitty messenger bag isn't exactly a proper laptop case (oooh but he fits in there so perfectly!that's what she said).
Work was more coding and shit. Just a little more, though, and little Jimmy's gonna have an hour's advance on me tomorrow morning.
Anime Boston '10 planning is underway. :D Yeah, there's NO WAY I'm missing Anime Boston (ever?) again. Though I do wish I could go to Zenkaikon this weekend, SO MANY COOL PEOPLE WILL BE THERE. But Boston. Yes. Going. (WTF MLB you messed up the schedule. The Yankees are supposed to be in town that weekend, not that Monday, didn't you know? XD)
Food now, I suppose. Baked chicken and potatoes. *_*
P.S., Happy birthday, Juana. You're getting old. XD
Edit: Wow, this penpals community? Is amazing. I've already got one! Finally, being old has paid off! XD
