AnimeNEXT so far.
Jun. 19th, 2010 11:55 pmGotta say, I'm not terribly impressed.
Yesterday was really short: I only spent eight hours at the con. Two of those hours were in a panel and prepping for that panel, and another hour and change was at the buffet with Esmeralda, Emily, Jessi, and someone-else-whose-name-I-never-caught. Thus, half the day. We showed up late because Laura didn't get her dad's car until he returned from wherever he was at one in the afternoon, and then we had to travel and get badges, both for the con and for panels. Neither line was particularly long, but it still took time to do.
Jessi's my new A(weso)merica. On a complete and total coincidence -- because I meant to surprise Esmeralda with it -- we were both wearing I ♥ [City] shirts with our ripped blue jeans. Best twins ever.
Personal best moments of the World Summit was when Seychelles learned what yaoi was, and when she got ETHNIC. They involved high-fiving Hungary and getting angry at England over black magic.
ohayogozaimasu, I'm not sorry I made you break character, and I never will be. (I'm sure video will be up on YouTube soon.)
But when we got home, we made bento for lunch, which we had today. All sorts of nonsense went in them: rice, pork buns, gyoza, eggs, raisins, potatoes and carrots. Nom.
Anyway, today I tried to get to the con early with Josephine and Deanna; not that early mattered, because we only wound up getting there a few minutes before our panel at eleven. Laura, Nicole, and I did Otaku Through the Generations, which, y'know, was a moderate success. *thumbs up*
After the panel, we picnicked and ate our bento in a shady spot on one of the lawns. It was very filling. Lunch lasted until one, when I wanted to get to the picnic.
It sucked. *sigh* I'm starting to get a little irritated....
Went to Josephine's and Erica's panel. They were so entertaining, it really went well.
A bit more hanging out; I changed into Brazil. We grabbed dinner at a pizza place, and they made fun of me for being Brazil.
Everyone went to the masquerade; I missed the zombie panel AGAIN (well, we left just before seven), but caught Hetalia history, and it was kind of okay. I picked up some interesting facts, but I didn't understand everything and I didn't learn so much? And it was extremely annoying that all the kidlets were going "ORESAMA~" every two damn seconds; they gave me a headache. I actually asked the panelists if they would ever do an 18+ panel just for maturity's sake. I do like Hetalia for the history I'm inspired to learn, you know. I want more of that. But I can't learn it if I've got a splitting fucking headache from squealing high schoolers. :/
But, y'know, speaking of Prussia:

chibiplz and
digitalhopper, you guys are just win. ♥ And because I'm a shmuck and didn't realize until just now: HAPPY BIRTHDAY, BIG BRO (slash other me slash Papa slash we really need to stop being so many inter-related characters)! :D
(Will try to make that better in the future.)
And then I heard from Kiera that the masquerade was balls and we could have done well with it. FFFFFF
Hung out until ten and took the early car home, and so I'm here. I realize this entry is a bit disjointed and, oh, what's the word, choppy? But yeah. Sorry. Pictures! They're all from today. Yeah, I got nothing from yesterday.

Mmmm, another forty-five minutes until Josephine gets home. I'll start packing for tomorrow.
