Cranes: 34/1000

Saturday at Kino, I bought a few things in addition to that tea I shared with Es. I got some file folders for Josie (because she liked my frog one), another figure for the shelf -- a koala! -- and one thousand tiny sheets of origami paper.



captalia did this thing last week where people folded cranes as well-wishes for Japan following the earthquake and tsunami, but I was slow to get to it (the deadline for posting pictures of the cranes that were made was Friday). I still went out and got the paper and even though it's not part of that project, I'm still going to go ahead and fold a thousand of them. Thirty-four is my total from yesterday and today, so it's going to take forever to get all of them done, but I will do it (and at the very least, it'll make a corner of my room really pretty once they're all strung up), I just don't know when. It's especially hard to fold these things because they're so small, and I have kinda-stubby fingers with short nails.

I wonder how many I can get folded at work.... *hides them in unassuming eyeglasses case*

For some reason, I still can't concentrate enough on Jiriri, and that's maddening. I (probably) have a practice on Friday. I'll probably have the necessary inspiration for it Sunday, watch. And because there's a birthday on Saturday, that means this week will be especially long and trying. Yay. :/
